Wow, good question. They are both great reals and you will get about a fifty fifty split on this one. I would pick which ever one felt best in my hands. Like I said the are about equal. Put them on a rod and see what you think. Also if you plan to do a lot of pitching with it I might lean towards the Rick Clunn.

Now I have a couple extremes and love them. That would be where my money went. Great all around reel. But depending on which extreme you are looking at they can get quite a bit more pricey. Have you considered a Curado?

Well I would probably go with the Rick Clunn then. The extreme is probably a mid range reel at that price. I was thinking of the Johny Morris extreme and it is pricey. Anyway I would go with the Rick Clunn, I played with one of these the other day at BPS and I thought it was a high quality reel. Hey did you use the link on the site to get there? It's a great way of helping out the site without costing you a dime. Anyway, let me know what you decide. I think you would be very happy with the Rick Clunn.

Just one more thought the Pro qualifier that I think you are looking at is a round reel with a standard profile and the Rick Clunn is a low profile reel so take that into consideration as well. Folks like each for different reasons, but mostly it comes down to what feels good to you.

I think you will be very happy with that set up. Let us know what you think after you get it on the water. Congrats on getting a new set up. It's always kinda like Christmas to me ~c~

I got 2 Rick Clunn rods and love them. Both are 6'6'' MH. One is his topwater series and one is worm/drop shot. Great tips on both. I can feel the blade turning on a buzzbait  lo.
