Army Air Corp. !!!!

Well another local war was won over the last few days, you won't read about it in the paper or see it on the news as it is G1-Classified and if I told you any more then what I'm about to divulge I would be required to kill you or make you do something so degrading that I would be ensured you wouldn't leak classified info for fear of being exposed for the freak you are.

The word filtered down about 25 days ago that we were heading out to Cymaria. As always those with the info and the grand plan failed to pass on their vision to the grunts on the ground. We hit the ground 19 Oct and got off the plane blind but motivated as ever and ready to kill kill kill!

Once in place we pealed off in to fire teams guarding this chunk of rock and setting up our Forward Operating Base "F.O.B" had a group out in the mud and sand on their bellies with multipule weapon systems holding the line while other fire teams unloaded tent boxes and the dirt boys ran power lines while the last group started putting up tents. Mind you this all kicked off at 2100 hours "9pm" and by the light on the moon we raised the FOB. By day light we had enough tents for the follow on XXXX amount of security to bed down before combat operations began. The rest of us worked on getting a good com link and a place to sit and eat chow = Meals Ready to Eat "MRE" .

So day one is over with nothing to report but sporadic gun fire coming from the host nation forces and the cymarian nationals while we were checked over all day watching for our weakness and scoping out our perimeters. The rest of the day was long and hard but we all knocked it out without a hitch.

Night time falls and the moon here is full and the probing attacks start. They test the lines in a 360 degreefashion all night. Starting with the main Entry Control Point "ECP" and working all around the base back to the ECP with out a breach of our forces. We however re colored the sand red with cymarian blood and beat them back with ease. Once they pulled back the mortars came some times it was a single shot other times we received multipule rounds before we could target them and force them back. The mortars have an earie sound just before impact and can have a devastating effect on moral but our guys held strong until day breach.

Day two we run convoys resupplying other FOBs in the area and fought off multipule attacks. The fighting at times was so hot our gunners started to feel out numbered and over whelmed with targets. I took over the lead vehicle gun turret position leading from the front showing the young guns how to pick and lead the targets for maximum effect and devastation. By the time we returned the guys were recharged and ready to continue taking the fight to the enemy. Good times I tell you, nothing like sitting on top of a Humvee waving at the friendlies while blasting the badies away. Some like Napalm in the morning,,, Combat Truckers love the smell of Gun Powder and the sound of empty brass rolling around your feet.

Day 3 we lost our first 2 members to a suicide bomber at the main ECP, poor bastards never had a chance. The rest of day 3 was more of the same, shoot, drive, shoot drive faster! The night of day 2 and 3 were more of the same, mortar fire and probing ruins trying to gain access to our FOB and weeken the spirits of the US forces.

Day 4, we find that during the night we lost 5 more members, one to a sniper and 4 were taken out by a direct hit to our chow area. It was a long sad day as we rebuilt the facility and tried to drum up the spirits of the friends left behind.

Night falls, we gain intell that a large attack is coming. Convoy trucks are brough up to the ECP in anticipation of preempting the strike. Our security teams move out in to the village and hunt down the IED builders and are ambushed and forced to drop back to the FOB were we use our heavy weapons to rain down compleat distruction on the attackers. The rest of the night is peaceful other then the none stop mortar impacts.

Day 5. Still no showers or hot chow, however we will have that part rectified by the end of the day. Nothing like a hot meal and a chance to wash of the grime and gun powder to lift the spirits or the men/women that stand side by side you in the chit. The only thing bad about knock back another day is that you know darkness is coming.

Still it is a great feeling to see the FOB you built around you and know the guys and gals have kicked ass gitting it done and are still eager to bring 110% no matter what you ask of them. Truly outstand young men and women. If you ever have doubts about our nations future due to the attitude of the young folks around you. Take time to meet some of the once that serve. God Bless them.

The night is calm most are in deep sleep when the 1st of many mortars arrive. The main ECP takes the majority of the 1st wave of incoming rounds and we lose 5 more. The secondary defencive fighting position "DFP" is taken out with small arms fire and several RPG's, we have lost the perimeter and the badies are pouring in to our FOB running from tent to tent spraying them down with rounds and RPG's trying to take out as many of us as they can before we can react.

After a long hard night of duck and run, shoot and run, duck some more life here is good, the badies were killed and we are the victors! Even though last night was the chit, with bad guys jumping wires running around the camp trying to kill folks while they slept, mortars going off and lots and lots of close on point blank gun fights. The sun came up and our FOB still stands. The dirty buggers just couldn't take the camp so we end-ex'd 1st thing this morning and now it's time to clean up and get ready to roll home.

So we will see you all soon, Fogy is heading back to good old LA and get in some fishing this weekend. Sunday is going to be a great day because I'll be with the rest of the folks from the ABA back the Red River taking an Airmen fishing. If you are in the local area and have a boat and some free time, please come out and help District 48 and the ABA could use some more boaters to make sure we get all 100 airmen that signed up a ride out on the water letting them put behind days like I just described and focus on some of the finer things in life, life spending time on the water and enjoying the great outdoors of the good old US of A they fight for.
