Spent Thursday and Friday on Lake Michigamme (6/23/05 and 6/24/05). Water temps ranged from 62 (near the dam) to 74 degrees around Presbetary Point. Mostly cloudy with winds in the 10 to 15 mph range out of the south / south east.
Many 1 to 1.5 pound smallmouth on spinnerbaits and tubes. Early Thursday morning, the lake was pretty calm in some of the bays and had a topwater bite going for about an hour. Started out with a Skitter Walk, boated one fish and had several boils w/o a hook up. Downsized to a Spittin Image and started connecting a little more before the wind kicked it up and the top water bite disappeared.
Great trip overall - caught NUMEROUS pike and walleye while fishing tubes. Always had something pullin' on the line.
