I've got a derby coming up in two weeks on  Grand and need any info I can get.  I struggled big time yesterday.  Between 2 of us and 14 hours on the water we managed zero keepers!  Any help via private message would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Jiffy, it is just about impossible to give you any kind of tip if you don't give a little information about here  you are fishing, what kind of water, what you are fishing for( largemouth, Smallmouth, spots?)

Fishing for largemouth.  Tried deep cranking, rigging, flipping, and spinnerbaiting windy points.  Caught a few each way, but just couldn't seem to find many and definitely no good ones.

Jfly, I don't get to fish much anymore, so I'm kind of hesitant to answer. However I have caught some good fish on weightless Sincos under and around boatdocks. If you have any kind of vegetation be sure and fish over and through it with rattlebaits or chatterbaits on top and heavy jigs and plastics with 3/4 oz. or heavier weights through it. If you can find humps that top out about 3 to 10 feet they can be deadly, especially early and late in the day. I have one spot like that where I have won several tournaments. The funny thing, it doesn't turn on untill late June or July. Anywhere there is a shadow on the water is worth trying, even in shallow water. Not much but I hope it helps.
