CBA 3rd Tournaments Starts Some Changes!
« on: August 23, 2009, 11:44:41 AM »

With the points race getting stacked towards the top, one tournament could send anyone into the CBA Top 8 and a chance to go "head-to-head" against some of the "west's top bass fisherman!"

The third and fourth tournament of the CBA season was held on Saturday the 22nd. The club members had decided to try and have a make up tournament by adding a second to the normal "half day" tourney schedule.

The third tournament of the season was at 6:00am to 10:30am and the forth tournament was held from 11:30am to 3:30pm. With Jeannie Gizzi leading the top 8, and alomost guaranteed a top 8 final slot, many of us so called "seasoned pros" needed to put it all together and make something happen!

After the morning session was completed, the tally was in! The points race is getting messy! Everyone still has a chance to make the "Top 8" !

Jeanne Gizzi finally gave everyone a break and had a day like most of us had been having all season long. Jeanni and Jared Nikirk had some success, but it wasn't good enough to capture a good keeper fish, thus falling in the points slightly.

Coming in third and hanging onto good "Top 8" points, were the father and son team of Lamont and Greg Gizzi. Both already had great point totals, but Greg still needs to fish a couple of tournaments to complete his "best of 4" total. So far, things look good for Greg and Lamont making the "Top 8", if Greg can get a couple of more good finishes! Good luck to you Greg!

Showing up in the top 3, and not surprising anyone, was the team of Sam Heckman   and Robert Auen (Lil Bob). Sam is no stranger to the top of the heap, but Lil Bob has struggled slightly this season. All in all, Lil Bob is hanging in the "Top 8" and has a good shot at finishing the season in that position. Both gents gained excellent points and made good moves up the "Top 8" list.

Finishing first, and another guy that is no surprise finishing in the top slots of CBA tournaments lately, is Jim McCormick. Jim has improved his competitive fishing abilities by leaps and bounds just this season, keeping him solid into to the "Top 8!" Benefiting from Jim being on a roll was his partner Sandi Roberts! Sandi is in a race for the CBA "Top Lady Angler of 2009" and needed all the points help she could get! Finishing first keeps her in the "Top 8" and puts her well within striking distance from taking over the lead for that award from Jeanne Gizzi, whom had "appeared" to be running away with things! Good Luck to the ladies and to Jim too!
