Greetings,

I've fished Truman a couple times and had some really good success.
The first trip we caught all our fish on 10" worms, it didn't matter what color as long as they were Red Shad.
Second trip was on swallow diving crank baits and buzz baits and crawfish colored jigs thrown in the mix.

Drop me an email and I'll provide you with a name and location.

Thanks for the report  Clap It's awesome to see reports from my old stomping grounds. Well I was more south from there, living just north of springfield, but got up to Truman a couple times and loved it. Wish I fished it more....

Lots of fisherman up there, so keep the reports coming and more folks will find you and post reports as well Clap Clap

Mike,

Its a Great Lake, I've fished Toledo Bend and Big Sam alot while stationed at Ft. Polk.  And Truman to me ranks right up there with with TB and Sam.

I definitely would have to agree with you. Haven't been on Sam Rayburn yet but fish Toledo Bend often.

Mike,

Brother, you need to take a week's vacation and head down to Rayburn.
It is fisherman's Paradise, put on some strong line, bring on the jigs, spinners baits, rattle traps (Rayburn Red).

Make sure you have a first aid kit for the first aid you'll preform on your lip'n hand.

I don't know what the fishing like during the summer and fall but from Jan - April for me it was a blast.

If you go during that time bring warm clothes and rain gear.

Sounds like a plan.... It's hard to pull me out of NW Louisiana at that time, fishing up here is just as good Clap Clap

Fished Truman Lake one time during a BFL this year. Awesome Lake. Caught most of my fish throwing a sweet beaver and on a shallow running Gizz 3 crankbait from Smack Tackle. The lake fishes shallow for the most part and if you like to powerfish it is your dream lake. Good lake for flipping and cranking. Lots of big fish. You can go down a stretch of bank any day and get 20lbs.

Didnt get to fish the lake side much this year. fished the river side right below the dam alot. hybrid were hitting the top water hard when they are letting water out at a decent rate. make sure to bring some heavy line and a good rod. your gonna need it to get the distance as you cant pull a boat anywhere near it.
