CBA 4th Tournament Sets The Scene!
« on: September 01, 2009, 11:54:46 PM »

The 4th CBA Tournament of the year, has set the scene for the upcoming 5th and final tournament of the year! The "Top 8" will surely be upside down by the end of that final tourney.

After a grueling afternoon of fishing, with water skiers, jet skiers and pleasure boaters running every direction, only 2 boats were able to complete the task of bringing in 2 keeper fish to be weighed in. Actually, they were the only boats to bring in any fish!

The team of Brian Leck and Connor Santos "flipped" themselves into 2nd place and added very important points to their overall standings towards the "Top 8" and their chance at the "Angler of the Year" trophy! Considering the competition and the conditions of the afternoon competition, Leck and Santos showed they were serious about solidifying their positions in the standings. Both are on the verge of being eliminated from the "Top 8", as many of us are, and this 2nd place finish may be what both of them needed to make it. Great job guys!

Doing their damage to the rest of us, mentally speaking, was the team of Sam Heckman and Jeannie Gizzi. No...this isn't de-ja-vu, but their names keep showing up in the top 3 and it may seem like it. With this win, Heckman cannot fall out of the "Top 8" even if he sleeps in at the next tournament. Awesome fishing Mr. Heckman!

Recovering from the "no weight" finish earlier in the day, Jeannie Gizzi put it all together with Sam and regained her lead over Sandi Roberts for the first ever "Top Lady Angler" award. The lead, 10 points (2 positions), makes this last tournament of the year of utmost importance for both of them! All the ladies have been fun to have involved in this years season and their competitiveness against all of us has been tough to overcome. Good Luck to both Ladies!

So the scene is set! Some need to better their positions while others need to fend off the potential "party crashers" that will be gunning for the "Top 8" slots! The final tournament of the year, promises to be the most important and exciting of the 5! Good Luck to everyone!
