Its been a year since my last trip to Millers Ferry and finally get to go up again Thursday for 3 days of much needed therapy. Primarily fish upper part of the river but will spend a day at the lower end and looking for any recent information such as water temp, color and height, main river or back water. Last Fall we had a we had a great trip for numbers of decent fish on cranks but never hooked into a 4+ fish and hope to change that this time. Any recent news would be a great help and much appreciated.

Fished Alabama River this past weekend and did not finish anywhere near the top of the pack, but can tell you water temps above Millers were 76 on Saturday and 75 yesterday.  Stay out on main lake/creek mouths in current around current breaks for the spots and recommend trying far backs of creeks for the largemouth.  Shad moving into creeks with recent cool down.  Good luck and let us know how everything turns out Goin' Fishin'

Just found out the Media Bass regional tournament will be held here in October 2010, Seminole in 2011, and Jordan in 2012.  Ought to be a good tournament - all three locations offer some great fishing.

Thanks Swede, 76 is kind off warm for mid October and would have preferreed 66 but its been hot all over. Fortunately, mouth of ditches and back of creeks are where my buddy and I look first and usually find a few fish on cranks, c-rigs and spinnerbaits. I stocked up on the crankbait(Bandit deep max) my buddy used last Oct. to catch a ton of fish so thats what they will probably run from this year. Cold front forecast for Friday so we should do well Thursday and maybe Friday but if forecast hold true a 20 degree drop in temps might shut them off by Saturday. Will post next week on our successful trip to my all time favorite fishin' hole.

I fished at Miller's Ferry last Thursday and Friday.  I caught most of my fish and the better fish by concentrating on main river points with lots of current.  I would throw a carolina rig until my arm fell off with a 1/2 oz. weight and let it drift right into those big spots' mouths!!

Thanks Sexyshad, all packed and ready to roll around 4 am for the 3 hour drive. Due to pending weather we will probably fish the dam area Thursday and hope to hook some of those big spots. The C rig is ready to go and will fish in several areas like you mentioned tomorrow . Will probably launch at  White Oak Creek Friday and Saturday and fish main river cuts.
