Took a trip down to Emiquon with a friend yesterday. Boy what a day, I boated 46 Bass my partner faired about the same. Got about 20 of them on a spinnerbait and the rest on a j&p. J&P was a 1/4 oz Omega watermelon paired with a vertical lures chunk X trailer. This was the biggest of the day caught on the just over 16"

Here is the habitat we got to work with. It's all flooded field and roadbeds that were diked in and turned into a preserve/refuge.

drakebuster- that is about par for that palce, the fish are hungry!!! you can wack the qauckers there also!!!!

paul s- you have to get a permit at dixon mounds to fish there, i think it is free. It is a trolling motor only area, i think you cant even have a gas motor on the boat. Emiquon is located by Havana, IL.

TONS of rules. No gas motors even allowed on the boat. No live bait except worms, no tubing, no wading, the list goes on but man what a place. During waterfowl you can only fish after I think 1 p.m. so the duck hunters have it all morning. Actually we are planning a trip down next month. Go down 1 day to fish the afternoon, get a motel room, and hunt the morning. There was a set of rules about what days you can fish etc... but I forgot what they said. My partner would know better than I.
