Hey guys heading over to coffeen lake in a few weeks...Wondering if I could get a little help as I've never even seen this lake. Does it have a lot of vegetation? Wood? Rocks? Are there a lot of docks? What are we looking at here? Any info would be much appreciated.

Lots of grass on coffene. No docks to speak of. Lots of wood in the form of stumps and lay downs lots of root wads but they won't be visable. The grass should be starting to die back. THere are rocks along the dam and the causeway. There are man made rock piles, some areas with gravel. A carolina rig gets a lot of use at coffene, rattle traps, jigs, texas rigs just about anything you want to use will catch fish. I like a DT 6 in the shad pattern with the stripe on the side works well. Did I mention jigs they like jigs. Water should be high with all the rain we've been getting. Good Luck. When ya commin?

Fished Coffeen today. Water temp at the ramp was 64. Fished mainly the main lake toward the dicharge. Temps were 65-70, but never got into the hot arm. Water is up a little. Most boats were fishing the discharge end of the lake. On the main lake, lot of the weeds are starting to die off a little, but still plently. Hope this helps.
