Higginsville City Lake Report 10-20-09

Higginsville,Mo city lake. only problem is they close the lake between oct 29 and jan 1st for duck hunters. very few spots available and done on a draw.
Got out at first light and temp was about 58*. stiff south wind for our little boat.
Very little visible cover. very shallow except in channel with depths being less than 4 feet near the banks down to about 18 's in some spots.

lots of fish hitting the surface. come to find out mostly carp.   couldnt even get a bite all day. overcast skys with patches of mist. i threw everything i had at them and couldnt get a single thing. i think it would be a good lake during spring but since we had the temps drop off so fast its got things a little crazy.

so had a good day on the water just no fish. lol
