I just bought a 86 Statos, with a 90 Merc.. When I bought it the guys gave me trim fluid and said it needed some. When i was on the water today , when I lift the motor it would slowly go down over say 1 hour of trolling. How do you top off, or bleed the trim fluid?? I see the nut to fill it but need some help?

1st tilt the motor all the way up, lock in place if your motor has the trim locks then add the fluid and replace the cap.

Unlock the motor and trim it up and down a few time but keep an eye on the motor so it doesn't get hot.

Lock the motor back in the up position add more fluid and repeat until it's full.

One more cycle of running the motor up and down and verify it is full and you should be good to go.

Watch the motor to see if you notice any leaks once full over the next week or so because it might need more maintenance than just fluid.  Wink

Good Luck
