Mike Noble just called me and said that all the docks he could see from the bridge going over Black Bayou were under water. I figure Cypress is in the situation. The news said that they need to divert water from the Red Chute Bayou to the Flat River but can't because the Flat River is flooded as well.

Cypress and Black Bayou in Benton drain into the Flat River, so I can only assume that the lakes will not drain until they can get the Flat River under control. I know they will go over the spillways but I am sure they are not going to open the valves and drain them faster until the Flat River settles and if/when that happens they are going to divert water from the Red Chute to it.

The way I see it we won't be fishing anywhere this weekend.

CYPRESS & BLACK BAYOU ARE NOW CLOSED!

From what I heard, they have nowhere to dump the water without flooding someone downstream so the gates will remain closed!

BassBuff just called and they are closed until further notice and that will be beyond this weekend for sure. He said Cross is also closed and they don't expect it to open before the end of the weekend either.

TCTC members, I will be making a post in our section shortly about our situation.

Nope, no choices, LSU football is not broadcast this weekend unless u want to pay for it on Tigervision.

I don't think I'll be paying $34.50 to watch them play Tulane.

Went by the launches for Black Bayou and Cypress.  Both ramps are closed.  The docks at the ramps are under at least 8 - 12 inches of water.  All you can see of the docks is the poles for the ladders sticking up at the end of the docks.  Have lived in Benton for 32 years.  Never seen the lakes this high.

BBB dropped 6" last night. It is on it's way down. It doesn't take on the amount of runoff that Cypress does. I believe Cypress will continue to come up, as it di last night, for another day at least. Now if the levee at Stockwell breaks, god forbid, it should go down. Let's pray that doesn't happen.

Cypress was down about 6" as well. Took kids to the north end for some more fishing and the currrent was much less and the water level  is much lower. We caught about 10 more cats and one of the boys caught one about 3-4 lbs. The bite turned off so we came home to watch football.

South end of Cypress had a lot of salvania floating around the public dock and in the pocket where the thingy that ties it to BB is. Hope they get it pretty quick. I don't think it will be to much of a problem if they go on and get it.
