Caddo Lake levels are back up to where they were last week. Public ramps are closed, as are most pay launches. As for going out there are some places you can launch, mostly private ramps. I have never been stopped when out on the lake during these high water periods, but you have got to remember that if you try to run up on the pad or on plane even at idle you are making a wake that rolls til it hits something. That something would be peoples flooded homes and properties. In over two weeks I have seen one boat go by Marshall Brake and that was a air boat. I could be going out, but I have not. It's pretty hard to fish the base of a cypress tree when the lake is up in the limbs anyway. Sure would like to be out there doing some fishing, but I'm just afraid I would be harming someone's home.

Very well said caddobass! IMHO we as fisherman have no business being on area lakes this weekend. Folks were hit hard enough around here and don't need us making it worse. Currents and debris will be making lakes dangerous anyway. It's one weekend let's have some respect for the home owners

National Weather Service has said that Caddo has crest and should start a slow fall. It does look like it may have started to drop, really can't tell yet. Maybe we can get out and fish by next weekend. I'll try to keep a post up Ok this is what is says here...

The National Weather Service are saying that Caddo Lake will not drop to below flooding until saturday evening. I will keep UB members posted on lake level and also on when the Earl Williamson Park ramp is opened back up.

Caddo is still on a slow fall, the water over the road to my house has gone from feet to inches. It could very well be back in its banks by the weekend, Earl Williamson Park ramp is still closed. You would be surprised at the number of young bream, white perch, bass & other fish that I am seeing that got trapped under the salvania that was left behind as the water level is dropping. Now as I'm raking the chit up I find another reason to hate it. Soon the list will look like David Letterman's Top Ten reasons I hate salvania.

Looks like the water dropped at a little faster pace last night. Earl Williamson Park ramp still roped off. Still think Caddo may open by the weekend, will keep up the post til it does.

Thanks for the updates caddobass.  I'm chompin at the bit to get out there.  I've always loved fall fishing, and it makes me nervous for my boat to sit too long without cranking.

I second that!  I have stabuild in my gas, and have charged up the batteries.  I took the boat out right before the storms, and will be wheels up tomorrow morning heading for Black Bayou Hosston!!

Checked the ramp at Earl Williamson today it is still roped off, the small wood pier was just starting to show at the surface. I've used the ramp at other times when it was just about at this level, but it is still closed. I still think Caddo will open this weekend.

Well when I came home from the drag strip I drove by Earl Williamson and as goes it I'm wrong again. The ramp is still roped off and worst yet the yellow floats that were in place to prevent the salvania from getting into the ramp area have broken loose. So I really have no idea when we will see the ramp opened back up. Earl Williamson is about the best ramp to use when the lake level is up, most of the private owned ramps are still suffering from the high water.

I gave a bad report on the condition of the yellow floats that were installed to prevent salvania from getting to the ramp at Earl Williamson. The floats are still in place, the salvania has just overcome the ramp area completely and the floats are holding it in. Shady Acre parking lot is completely covered in the chit. Here at the house we have used a box blade to remove what we could from the road and my ramp area. The chit is so thick along the bank line that I still can't use my ramp.
