Most of us are weekend fishermen so we really dont have a say as to when we fish: But if there is a combination of High water..and  High pressure systems stay home...clean your boat, rods n reels, cut grass etc...it really makes an impression on the Mrs. ..u might get lucky... Laugh

I think working on things for the wife is always a good move but I also think that if we only fish when the sun/stars/moon are all aligned just right it becomes even harder for folks to find the fish when they get a chance to get on the water.

Basically time on the water trying to learn something each time out no matter if the water is high/low/sunny/raining what have you fish when you can, have fun and see if you can learn something new to put a few in the boat.  I have an Idea!

You can't catch'm if your not on the water wetting that line.  Smiley

Anytime you can get on the water it will be a learning experience one way or another.

Of course there will be days that the yard work and honey do's will have priority.  Sad

I like fishing with with all different scenarios. Thats how you learn and gain knowledge. But, I'm also very lucky to have such a great woman at home that believes in me fishing and trying to make a career out of it and supports me 110%. Thats the hardest thing to find in my book. I have soo many friends that used to fish almost every other day that hardly fish at all now cause of their wives getting mad at them. That would kill me!...

I have to agree with fogy on this one! I try to fish anytime and all the time that I can. The main reason being that come tournament day you cant predict what the weather is gonna do and you need to have the knowledge to still produce no matter what the conditions are. Just my .02!

To me you just can't learn to be a fishermann unless you force yourself to fish ALL conditions. The ONLY time I will stay off the water is if it is too dangerous.
Otherwise I will be on the water.  Grin

I fish as much as I can whenever I have the chance. Conditions really don't matter in my decision. The only time I may choose not to other than when the water is hard is in heavy rain because it's just not that much fun. But then I have been on the water when it's comming down so hard you can't see.

I have found the best time for me to go fishing is whenever I can. Grin It's a very good feeling to have a good day on the water even under tough conditions. Those days when just the kids and I go to give my wife a break for a few hours are well worth it.

You just never know what a dang fish will do. Some of the best days I've had were in what seemed to be terrible conditions. I know everyone has had days that  seemed perfect but the fish just would not bite.

You can't learn and grow as a fisherman if you only pick the "good" days to be on the water.

When it is too much work to cut a hole in the ice to run the outboard.  That might be a good time to stay home.   Wink
