The 7ft extra heavy carrot stix is one heck of a pitching rod. I've caught bass up to 7lbs using it with no problems at all. it is extemely stiff without all the weight of most other flippin rods. it might be a little short for actually flippin, you might want to look at the 7ft 6in for that. but i don't have that because i pitch almost exclusively. once you buy a carrot stix, you'll never want anything else.

I am going to have to agree with callmekvd...although I use the 7 1/2 ft rod..the castaway skeleton in the same length and action is good too...
my boat is full of carrot stix though

Don't know how much you want to spend but I use a 7"3 Cumara M/H. I love it and the waranty is great. I have broke it twice doing stupid stuff and have had it replaced at BPS with no problem.

Been using an American Rodsmiths Kicker Stick 7'6'' one piece flipping stick for several years now.  Light weight, great sensitivity, made for braid, and a good price.

In addition to flipping and pitching it also has a fast enough tip that you can use it for casting frogs into really nasty places for the big toads with out wearing yourself out casting all day or worry about not having enough rod to pull really heavy fish from cover.

Take a look at the new Deep South Brand Rods, I have 4 of them and love them, they have two choices on flipping sticks, a 7'11" and a 7'6".

I was looking for a rod for heavy flipping/pitching in thick grass matt where I would need like 3/4 to 1 ounce weight with a creature bait to punch through the grass. Sounds like the carrott stix are good choice i do feeling like my 7ft allstar is a little short i may move up to at least a 7' 6.

In that case I would consider Shimano Crucial 7'6 MH Flipping Rod. That rod was recommended to me by several people ( search "Shimano Crucial 7'6 MH Flipping Rod" to see all the comments on it)  on this board and I love it for the heavier weights(1/2 oz thru 1.5 oz) I have another rod I like for anything lighter. The best thing about the Shimano's is the no hassle return policy. You break it- no matter what the reason-  just bring it back to any dealer and exchange it on the spot with no additional charge. No BS/ no hassle return- can't beat it IMO.

Yep, well said and agree 100% love the 7 foot for 1/2, 3/4 and 1 ounce for the very same reasons!  Clap Clap
