I have a 2010 175 txw with 50 elpto with ss prop 37 mph tops i dont know what outboard to go with elpto or opt and would it be worth it

Already?  I have a 2010 175txw with the 2stroke 50, and I get max 34 or so.

I figure I would lose so much money was repowering now, that it is not worth the few extra mph I would get from a 75.  I'll wait a few years before I start thinking about a new motor.

Note sure I would want a 90 hp 4 stroke because of the added weight.  The elpto may be an option.

thats right the 4 stroke is to much weight about 100 pounds more thin opt and the opt is 72 pounds more thin elpto

I have to decide fast becouse the elpto is limited :-\

Is your boat rated for a 90? Thought 75hp was max for the 175?

SoFLnative

if you are rated for a 90 then the elpto or opti would both be good choices.

I went with the opti because of the technology. turn ket starts, much better fuel economy, smart craft compatible etc. I had a 50 elpto before i repowered and i was sick of the cold starts and choking and stalling.

Either way....with a 90 and a JP/prop and set up you will see low 50's. The eplto makes a little less power but it lighter so they should be close performance wise.

If this (2010 TRACKER® Pro Team™ 175 TXW) is the same boat, then max. recommended HP is 90, though the USCG plate is the final authority. ;D

My USCG plate states 75hp.
I thank because the complaining that one guy did is the reason the plates was change and am so glad

what improvement does the jack plate provide. I have a 2006 Tracker Pro 175 SE with a Mercury 40 -4 stroke and instead of re powering due to way too much $$ i though about adding a JP

With a 40 i would not put on for speed but can keep your lower unit and skeg from getting banged up but i put a ss skeg guard on mine the day i got my boat and it looks good and my skeg stays new ;)

I wonder if the 90 opt is going to have a xs i hope so before i upgrade mine  :-\
