Alabama River-Prattville report
« on: June 11, 2011, 08:23:57 PM »

Fished the last 2 Saturday mornings on the Alabama River launching out of Cooter's Pond. Both days had similar weather conditions (mid 90s). On the 4th of June, I waited until the tourney group was gone before I went out. When I arrived at my 1st spot around 5:45am, I found plenty of current, 80 deg water. Fished until noon, caught about 10, only 2 non-keepers. All came from the main river, and to my surprise, only 1 spot. All came on a spinnerbait off wood or brush. Biggest fish was about 4 lbs, best 5 was around 11 lbs. Today, got on the water at 6am, zero current, still 80 deg water. Caught 15 total, 2 on a crankbait (H2O express 1.5) shad pattern, the rest were on a spinnerbait. All from main river again. Biggest was about a 3 lb spot, best 5 went about 9-ish. I wish I lived on this river...my favorite place for a short trip. Well worth the 3 hr drive. Good luck and tight lines.
