HDS-8 not reading temperature anymore

<< < (2/3) > >>

Bassinkorea:
I went through the menus and pressed a few buttons and thing went a bit strange (to the point were I was completely lost  lo ), so I reset both units to factory defaults and will test them on the water as soon as I get the chance.

Todd, how can I set up the temps on both units through the LSS unit instead of my sonar transducer? (my LSS is in my boat about one hour away, but I can power up my units at home with spare power cables).

beast96z:
BK, go to the Data sources as Todd stated above. When you choose "local", it will have a drop down of the available temp sources. Just choose LSS-1 and you will be good to go. You will have to do this on both units. Also note, that sometimes when you swap screens, depending on which "primary" screen you choose, you will need to set up temp for that screen as well. For example, if you swap from Sonar over to Structure, you may have temp on sonar, but will need to add temp to the structure screen. Once you add it to that screen, it should stay. This is something that is good to do while your at home playing. I went through and set up all my screens in the garage. :-*

Bassinkorea:
Ok, I have a Gen 1 HDS-8 and a Gen 2 HDS-5 connected to my LSS-1 unit, should they operate correctly, or is there a chance to compatibility issues?

Well put beast96z!

Gen1 and Gen2 are fully compatible, no worries there.

I forgot to add that the Gen-1 is a Korean version and the Gen-2 is a US version.
Whilst on the water, the US version has a warning flashing along the bottom of the screen constantly saying "this version is not valid for use in this region" (or something along those lines).
