Well I guess not too many from Nevada hit up UB or are just as guilty as me. Being a lurker and not a poster. The Nevada area is pretty empty. Been a member and read/visit UB almost daily for a year and a half and only 12 posts. Slackin...
Hit the water at 5am and off shortly after 6pm. A long day in that heat! (100 degrees out and more or less zero wind) I ran the electic trolling motor for over 12 hours in and out of every cove working my way along the coast line in a area I drive by all the time but have never really fished/worked. Batteries are hurting big time. lol Got checked mid morning by a Ranger. Usual stuff. Life jackets, throwable PDF, fishing license, fire extinguisher, etc. First time for me. Painless.
Anyways ended up catching 26 fish total. 17 smallies, 7 large mouths, 1 Bluegill and 1 Striper. Could of caught more Stripers if we wanted to. Tons around. This one just got in the way of bass fishing. Ended up with one really nice LMB at 4.5lbs on a Strike King 6XD crank and everything else was the usual stuff at 2-2.5 pounds.
I shot a short video of my oldest daughter, Madison, landing one of her Smallies Sunday on a drop shot (Havok 4.75" worm).

Some pics from the day too:
Time to cool down some and find more fish for us ;D

Absolutely awesome post :toot:
Yep we have a lot of lurkers from your way. It just takes a couple to start posting and they ball will get rolling. ~c~ Thank You for starting that. Please continue to share your adventures.
I love how clear the water is in the back ground. I miss that sometimes. I definitely miss small mouth fishing. Never been on Mead but spent a lot of time on the left coast.
Looking forward to more reports and photo's from your way :-*

Once you go fishing on Lake Mead/Lake Mohave you will dread the thought of going somewhere else were the water is dirty. I am so use to being able to sight fish. As long as the wind is down a day or two prior to heading out the water visibility is more or less 100% unrestricted. Being able to sight fish smallies in 25 feet of water is soooo much fun! In that last picture with her and the smallie the water is only a couple feet deep under the motors prop (engine is raised) but were she is standing it is 10-15 deep and up front it is 25+ feet deep. Some awesome ledges can be found. Find them and you will be in small mouth central. I can't think of any form of fishing funner than catching smallies on light tackle spinning rigs sight fishing (The rod she is using is a 6'9" ML and overall the funnest rod in the boat and by far my favorite one to use for fun!)
I really like these lakes having both SMB and LMB. Pick your area and your fish. Simple enough. I could of motored on a few miles further and been on LMB all day verse SMB. One of those flip the coin in the AM and decide what one feels like catching for the day decisions.
(Actually whatever she decides, I had to make it sound like I have a opinion. ~shhh)
