ANy time you are fishing a frog have a weightless senko or fluke ready.  I like a wacky rigged senko.

throw it right where your blowup is and hang on.  I don't even bother to reel in my frog. get that senko/Fluke out there quick!

Anyway a slap at a frog is usually a fish that will eat a subsurface bait.  ;)

I cant stress enough about how important braid is in increasing your hookup ratio as well

I learned that last night. I don't have elaborate gear by any means and when I stopped at one of my favorite ponds to fish last night all I had was a medium light to medium action 6' spinning combo with 10 lbs. mono. I threw my koppers live target frog for an hour and in 20 or more hits I only landed one fish. I could NOT set the hook hard enough to overcome the stretch in the line!

Go buy some 20lb braid....I recommend Sufix 832 or Power Pro Slick 8 but just about any brand will do.  The 20lb braid will eliminate the stretch BUT you will need to have your drag set so that when you set the hook you don't break your rod.

With the drag just loose enough to pull out some line during the hookset, you should still have plenty of "power" to set the hook.

The braid will cost more than mono but will outlast mono 10-1.....so it will pay for itself.

Besides all of that, you'll land more of those fish.

To really efficiently fish frogs, you need a stiffer rod. with that flexible of a tip, it is going to be extremely hard to get the hooks to penetrate good enough to get a solid hookset. You should try to get a Medium Heavy fast, that is what I like anyways, with some braid, it will make a world of difference. It doesn't even neccesarily need to be an expensive rod, just something with some more backbone
