Humminbird 788ci screen captures.
ILbasslayer:
Hey guys, I have a 788ci HD. This is my first HD unit. I can tell you that you almost have to go to school to learn how to read these things! I was wandering if you guys could maybe help me out and determine what this is. It is about 30 yards off a rock bank. I am thinking it is a underwater humps with baitfish maybe? Please mind that I am a rookie at these new units.
All the help you guys give me will be greatly APPRECIATED!
ILbasslayer:
here is one more.
Wayne P.:
It's hard to tell what you have with those settings using HumViewer.
It's like you have the Sensitivity setting too high when using the unit.
The best interpretation images should be screen shots with the unit-they are picture files.

Like I said, I am a rookie with these. How low should i turn my sensitivity down? I do believe it is on a 5. My Switchfire mode is on Clear Mode. The water is usually pretty muddy. Is it picking up suspended particles in the water?
Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

There is no way to tell what to suggest without an actual unit screen shot.
HumViewer has its own separate and independent rendition of the recorded data and in no way does it represent how the unit displays the data.
I get great results with the Default settings for 2D sonar. I don't ever adjust them since I don't fish waters that are more than 70' deep.
Your images look like Down Imaging from a 788ci HD DI not from an image from a 788ci HD.
DI and 2D sonar are completely different. There is no Switchfire for DI.
Do you know there are 4 different 788 units?
