"Major League Fishing is aggressive and bold," said Advantage Bait Company President Jason Schwartz. "We decided quickly that this is something we want to be part of." And Advantage Bait is now officially part of Major League Fishing. The league announced today that the custom spinnerbait company, located in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, is a sponsor of Major League Fishing. "With its ‘new game, new rules, no limits’ approach, Major League Fishing has broken the mold of competitive bass fishing, taking tournament fishing to an unprecedented higher level," Schwartz said. "We’d like to think that, similarly, Advantage Bait Company is revolutionizing the spinnerbait market with our version of Major League Fishing’s motto: new blades, new skirts, no limits." Major League Fishing Commissioner Don Rucks said he is pleased that a specialized company such as Advantage Bait is finding Major League Fishing attractive.
Advantage Bait Company joins several other announced Major League Fishing sponsors: GEICO, Bass Pro Shops/Nitro, Mercury/MotorGuide, Quantum and BassCat. "We’ve got a terrific group of sponsors, and we’re not done yet," Rucks said. Major League Fishing, a partnership between Outdoor Channel and 24 of the world’s best anglers, features made-for-television bass fishing events designed to bring high-level challenges to participants and entertainment, as well as insight, to audiences. The league’s first event, the Challenge Cup, will be offered beginning February 13 on a series of Internet-based pay-per-view broadcasts. The event will also air on Outdoor Channel in April. The Challenge Cup took place November 6-11 on Lake Amistad near Del Rio, Texas. The Lake Amistad event debuted Major League Fishing’s innovative format that allows anglers to compete with no limit on the number of legal fish they can catch and weigh. Competitors were not allowed to begin competition with stored, user-generated GPS waypoints, and were not allowed any practice time. The anglers also were equipped with real-time leader boards in their boats. About Advantage Baits About Major League Fishing About Outdoor Channel Holdings, Inc.

![]() It seems like we hear about or witness cheating anglers more often with each passing year. I don't know if it's the prestige of winning a bass tournament or the money that goes along with it, or both. |
