 Just out, the Ultimate Angler of the Year contest details have been released. This unique bass fishing tournament will start June 25, 2007. All Ultimate Bass members are welcome to join. Be sure to read the rules for all the details. You won't want to miss this. The anglers will be competing for Custom Rods by Tommy's Pro Custom Fishing Rods, Reels from Delo's Tackle, a Custom Website by Bass Angler's Network and more.
2007 WinnersAngler of the Year - Paul Simms (Beagle)Rookie of the Year - Michael Ludden Jr. (mjluddenjr)The Ultimate Angler of the Year contest will identify the most competitive anglers as well as give them a chance to win great prizes and the chance to promote themselves to the next level of bass fishing.
The Ultimate Angler of the Year Contest will start on June 23, 2007 and end on September 22, 2007. Twelve weeks of competition for the serious anglers to hedge their bets for the best of the best of Ultimate Bass. The Ultimate Angler of the Year will be an annual event and will signify those anglers that are serious about bass fishing.
During each tournament week the anglers will be allowed to submit one tournament results to the contest. The results must be signed by the tournament official and contact information for that tournament official must be provided. Each tournament week will run from Monday through Sunday. The deadline for submitting results will be the Sunday following the end of each tournament week. The Ultimate Angler of the Year Tournament Results will be posted each Monday following the deadline.
All submissions for the Ultimate Angler of the Year must be from Regional Tournaments** or Open Tournaments with a field of 75 boats or more. All submissions for Rookie of the Year must be from Club Tournaments or opens/fruit jar tournaments with less than 50 boat fields. Anglers may not participate in both Angler of the Year and Rookie of the Year Tournaments.
The 300 points system will be awarded as follows: 1 - 5th place 5 point increments, 6 - 10 4 point increments, 11 - 15 3 point increments, 16 - 99 2 point increments, 100 - balance 1 point increments. Bonus points will be awarded as follows: Leader of the day - 2 points, Big Bass - 5 points.
To qualify to compete in the Ultimate Angler of the Year contest you must have been a member of Ultimate Bass prior to June 25, 2007, and have 10 or more posts before the end of the contest.
