Manufacturer Joins Growing List of Anglers' Legacy Partners Encouraging Anglers to "Take the Pledge" and Introduce Newcomers to Boating & Fishing ALEXANDRIA, VA (May 19, 2008) – The Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation (RBFF) today announced a new partnership with Live Eyewear to promote Anglers' Legacy, a program that encourages avid anglers to introduce newcomers to boating and fishing. To coincide with the release of the Cocoons Pro Series sunglass collection, Live Eyewear is donating a portion of proceeds from every Cocoons Pro Series model sold to Anglers' Legacy. The promotion, which kicks off this month, encourages anglers to "Take the Pledge" and uses Web banners to support the Anglers' Legacy message. "We are happy to add Live Eyewear to the growing list of Anglers' Legacy partners nationwide," said RBFF President and CEO Frank Peterson. "Research shows us that introducing newcomers to boating and fishing results in big gains for both industries and helps preserve our waterways for future generations." "We are proud to be working with our key retail partners and RBFF to increase participation in outdoor activities," said Live Eyewear President Kieran Hardy. "We will work to pass along these great traditions to our children and raise awareness about the importance of funding for conservation programs." Anglers' Legacy was launched in May 2006. To date, the program has collected more than 50,000 Pledges, which according to a 2007 survey of Ambassadors, means it may have already generated $5.2 million for the fishing industry, $7.2 million for the boating industry and the sale of more than 88,000 new fishing licenses.
