The background and reason for creating the After The Catch IPhone application started when I decided to get back in to Bass fishing after a twenty year break. Like most people back when I was a kid my dad introduced me to fishing, my dad was a big hunting and fishing guy. Most of the time I would go to a little creek by our house and would catch some little blue gill and had so much fun. One day I found some plastic worms in my dad's tackle and went to one of the ponds on the golf course we lived on. The pond had a little dam flowing into a small creek. I let that worm drop over that dam and bam I caught this huge bass and I started to pull this monster out and the line broke and the fish was flopping around on some cement pad on the other side of the dam, I jump down head first and grabbed my first largemouth bass with my bare hands. I remember that my knees were bleeding from the cement but that didn't matter I was hooked.

When asked how BTS came about Rob Faddis of RMR industries the parent company of BTS told us "In a nutshell, BTS was an invention of need. I made it because of the horrible problems I was having with mold on my boats back in 1998 when I moved to the Southeast. I decided that the 20 things I have in my garage to care for my boats were a big waste of money, not very effective and took up a lot of room. I started with the mold problem but felt that there had to be a way to get most if not all the things that boaters (me) needed to protect their boats into one effective and easy to use formula. Over the next 3 years and with the help of some of the brightest chemistry minds in the nation ( I am a chemist and worked for the semiconductor industry at INTEL) we came up with BTS as you know it."

I’ll bet you can remember the first bass tournament you ever fished. I’ll bet you remember how many fish you caught, who your partner was and where you placed. You probably remember where you were fishing and what you caught them on. You may even remember what the weather was, how you were retrieving your lure and especially the big one that got away. But can you remember what the water temperature was? How about whether a front had just passed? Can you remember exactly how deep you were fishing? Was the lake level rising, falling or was it steady? Was there current or bait fish activity? How clear was the water? If your first tournament occurred fairly recently, you may be able to recall these details. If you’re like me and this happened over 20 years ago, you probably can’t answer all these questions. Now, what about all the trips between your first tournament and your most recent? Can you recall all the details about every trip? Unless you’ve been keeping an accurate fishing log, I would bet you can not honestly answer yes.
