I had a few of the KaRu Poison Tail Jig's laying around in my tackle box for the longest time, but never used them. My success with jigs primarily came from a different manufacturer and I was happy with them and found no reason to switch. That changed one afternoon while fishing a dense weed line that seemed to swallow up my jigs without the intent of giving them back. I quickly ran out of my standard jigs and noticed the KaRu P.T.'s laying in the container and decided to tie one on. My fishing setup was a 6'6" medium heavy rod with 30lb braid, and the 3/8oz KaRu P.T. matched up nicely with it. I cast the jig to the weedline and proceeded to bring it through the weeds. I half expected it to hang up, but surprisingly it didn't. I was able to bring the jig through weeds that my other jigs were snagging on left and right. Because of this, I was able to get in more casts since I wasn't cleaning the jig as much, and I was able to bring the jig through places that I "knew" I shouldn't be able to.
In terms of quality, the jig has held up remarkably well. Both of the eyes had fallen off after a full days worth of being brought through the weeds and muck, but that didn't affect the fish bite and so it doesn't affect my opinion of the jig. The skirt it high quality, the hook is still sharp, and the painted head still looks great even though it’s been bounced a lot.
I have since purchased more of these jigs and they all appear to have the same uniform quality construction. The KaRu Poison Tail jig is a hard working jig made with quality components. They have now made it to the top of my jig containers and my prior favorite jigs now rest somewhere on the bottom.

These are the best Jigs for fishing in the grass. Great colored skirts for the clear waters and the wire weed guard does not hamper hook sets.

Awesome jig with super color selections!! You can match just about any forage, and there is a bait to cover any water clarity. Comes through the weeds like a charm, but the twin wire guard doesn't hinder the hook sets.

The Karu poison tail jig is a great all around bait. Works well in any situation from grass to wood to open water. It is made from fine components and has excellent skirt colors. The weedguard is metal and works fine in grass, but for thick heavy wood I prefer a fiber weedguard. Don't hesitate to use this bait in any scenario, it's an especially deadly swim jig. Swim it in situations you would throw a spinnerbait and expect to catch some more and bigger fish. Overall this is a great bait that is extremely versatile. I rated the bait excellent, my only small change to the bait would be a different weedguard.

I fish these jigs a few times a year and am always pleased at the results. 2 years ago while swimming a White Poison tail I hooked and almost landed a 48+ inch muskie. The reason I didn't land him, I was fishing for bass and had no net/fish grabber to pull him up. The hooks are at a great angle and are always sharp. The color selection is some of the best I have seen. I highly recommend them.

The KaRu Poison Tail Jigs are great in and around grass, you can set the wire weed guards however you like; off to each side of the hook to help prevent the jig from rolling when fishing around brush, together to help provide extra protection to the hook in thick grass or anywhere in-between. The Mustad MegaBite hooks stand up with your trailer giving you fantastic hook up ratios, better than any other grass jig I've used.
As with all KaRu lures you are getting custom made items without the custom price.

This is my favorite of all jigs. The 2 stainless steel weedguards do not hinder the hook-up in any way, yet they keep this jig un-snagged very well. Besides the great weedguards, all the other parts of this great jigs are made of the finest materials making it a great choice.
Highly recommend this jig to others!
