I have one of the older models without the dual braking. I hate to say it but I was a little disappointed in it's performance. I bought a Revo STX at the same time and in my opinion is a superior reel. The Premier is light as a feather, and with the dual braking now is probably backlash free, but it just did not feel smooth to me.
Casting was good but I think I got more distance with the STX. I rated it good because although I feel the STX is a better and less expensive option, this is still a good reel overall. Good, not great.

Bought four of the older Premiers on sale from an on-line dealer over a year ago. I am on the water well over 150 days a year in Northern NY and in Florida. Was very disappointed with some of the features. Mainly the handles were the cheap ones used on the inexpensive round C3's. The plastic paddles pulled right off the handle on the first hook set. Abu Garcia did replaces them with handles from their Revo S series. The reels are very light weight as advertised and using the cast control you are able to cast even light weight lures with ease. These reels do make a lot of noise on the cast and to me is quite annoying after using the much less expensive Revo S and Revo SX series that are very smooth and quiet when casting. With the reduced pricing of these reels they are good value if you are looking for a very light reel with magnetic brakes. It was disappointing considering original price of these reels that Abu Garcia used cheap handles and made a noisy reel. Hopefully the new Premiers are better built and a better value for the retail price.
