This reel is by far the best reel I have ever owned. The HS is perfect for my flipping and pitching needs. Such a smooth casting reel, get some great line for it and you will be amazed by the quality, speed and handling.

The Revo S is a great reel, but the Revo SX in the High Speed model is probably the best value of all the Revo models. It is smooth as silk when casting, the drag is the best I have seen on any baitcasting reel with Abu Garcia claiming the drag to be 24 lbs. When they say high speed this one has it with a 7.1.1 gear ratio, but still has strong enough gears to haul big fish out of heavy cover when using it to fish floating frogs. This reel handles heavy braid down to light mono with ease. Has a dual breaking system with magnetic adjustable brakes and centrifugal brakes. The Revo SXHS weights in at only 8.7 oz so casting all day with this light weight reel is a breeze. The handles are built tough and comfortable.

Have purchased a dozen of these reels since they first came out and have had no problems with the Revo S series. Have used them with braided, fused, mono, co-poly, and fluorocarbon lines and they handle all lines with ease. The drags are excellent and are still working as well and as smooth as the day I bought them. Adjusting the centrifugal brakes (cast control) takes a little patience and practice as just the slightest adjustment is all that is needed to dial the reel in for the bait and conditions you are fishing. The paddle handles are well made and solid with ball bearings in the paddles. You do need to take the side plate off and make sure the bearings and worm gear are cleaned and oiled on a regular basis. Great reel and an excellent value.

This is a great reel that has tremendous bang for your buck! Listed at 129.99, you can often find this reel on sale for even less. This reel is relatively easy to cast, and would be a great reel for beginners and pros alike.

This reel is by far my favorite reel!!
I really prefer the centrifugal brake system over a mag brake, and with the Revo S having this feature, along with the very strong yet smooth drag system, awesome long casting capabilities, and with a very reasonable price tag, it makes sense that this reel is my favorite.
