Product of the Week
KVD has single-handedly re-popularized the use of spinning gear for pitching grubs. The movement has spread with the advent of dropshotting and shaky head techniques. Truth is, spinning gear is great any time you can use it. This reel is built Kevin’s way: an ultra-compact ThinLine™ aluminum body with aluminum Long Stroke™ spool and Quantum’s unique MAGLOK™ magnetic Continuous Anti-Reverse™ system. Hardened gears, a smooth seven-bearing system, ceramic drag, and machined-aluminum handle round out a great spinning package for any angler.

Not only does kvd win tournaments but he develops a great reel also! It's just as smooth as my more well known "high end" quantum spinning reel, and it looks great with a black metallic finish. I use the kvd20 version of the reel and it handles very well. Ceramic drag works very well and I've noticed the bail closes very quietly. It is a little heavy weighing in at 11.3 oz but paired with my 6'6 rod it balances pretty well. Casting distance is good also. This reel has been problem free for the few months that I've had it and for the abuse I put it through. The msrp is $99 I got mine for $50. This thing is a gem. I'd suggest it for a good starter reel or even to an avid fisherman.
