After many years of research and development, testing and proven evidence from thousands of Z bone rod owners throughout 2010, the NEW 2011 Kistler Z bone rods are finally available in stock models, but with an added performance.

All Kistler Z bone blanks are finished in a beautiful "Raw Carbon." Our one of a kind "Raw Carbon" finished look is a sanding and polishing process that involves no added color, gloss or matte coating at all, just the pure beauty of graphite. This approach ensures your rod is as light, responsive, and sensitive as possible. While a coating can make for an attractive fishing rod, the weight of any applied finish dampens the blank at its most critical section, the tip. By leaving our blanks naturally finished, we can deliver to you not just the lightest rod possible, but also one with an incredibly sensitive tip that will also equate to tons of detected bites.


Each Z bone will be built and tested from a blank that was specially designed by the legendary Gary Loomis and constructed by his North Fork Composites team in their new state-of-the-art blank factory in Woodland, Washington. Because of the extreme degree of testing by Gary and his team as well as the Kistler standard of testing, you will be able to feel more confident while fishing our great American Z bone blanks. We have included our “first of its kind” features that are sure to make your fishing experience more successful.


The patent pending “Smart Grip” was developed for two reasons: First, to slide over and cover the cold metal or rough graphite edges of the reel seat provided you with a extremely comfortable spot to place your fingers directly on the carbon blank for maximum feel. Second, the “Smart Grip” will actually assist you in tightening down your reel to the rod for a fit that is rock solid as well as assist you when removing your reel.


The other fantastic feature we have introduced and included on the 2011 Z bone stock rods is our first of its kind, patent pending “Hook Lock”. Because so many anglers asked us to come up with a way to keep their lures from bouncing off their rods while in transit, we took that challenge seriously. By testing and proving micro guide performance, Kistler and FUJI have the strongest engineered stainless steel frame micro guide designed to hold up to extreme angling. The Kistler Advanced Microguide locking wrap system "KAM lock" which has also proven to be the industry’s best method for locking in a micro guide eliminating problems found on other micro guide rods today.
