This is my first post on this forum however we fish Weatherby Lake every weekend. I think fishing has slowed down within the last few weeks due the strange weather we are having. I has gone from cold to warm in fact my kids went swimming today when the temp is normally 20 degrees on average.

However we did catch on the boat all the others left in the dust or skunked. Max one of the guys I fish with caught a 5lb large mouth bass on a bait he said he has never used before. Max said he hasn't used this bait in about 25 years.

It was a cool bass worm that was like a green worm that looked liked an eel it was cool, he Texas rigged the bait and tossed it by the docks and nailed one. Max normally is the one that always gets skunked....

I was fishing a white Lip RipperZ worm split shoted but only had a few bites all short. However I was the only one that was able to pull in a large mouth bass.  It was cool to see max get a fish like that. Once I get the photo I will post in on my site.

Thanks Guys, I am new to Kansas City fishing because I came from California.  My 6 year old is sponsored by Lip RipperZ. As for the photos and post yes I would love to post more. Here is a picture of my son fishing with his sponsor.

Nice to see another KC angler in here.  I can't say I've heard of Lake Weatherby, is it on the Missouri side?  Sounds like a good place to fish.  I hear ya on the weird weather we have had, snow one day, bright sunny and in the 70's the next!
