I need to change the trailer bearings on a 89 tidecraft tandem axels, how do i find the size i need and is it different to change than a single?

How I did it on mine(single axle) took it out and took a caliper and measured everything then went and bought new ones.  Its very simple to do with the right tools.  Check auto zone or advanced auto parts or somewhere like that.  I payed 60 deposit for a bearing changing kit.  With out it you will not be able to do it properly and spend hrs instead of minutes screwing with it.  Very simple to do.  Also buy a seal puller.  I can change one in about an hr. what takes the longest is cleaning all the old grease out and making everything clean. Then repacking the new one with grease.  Otherwise its simple

You do not need anything special to service wheel bearing's some basic tools ,rag's and some grease.very simple to do. here is some link's I found to help you.

There are two articles in the "How To" section on the main site of Ultimate Bass. One is about trailer maintenance and it covers bearing repack and the other is about brake change and it also describes bearings.

You can take the old one to any auto parts store and they can match up the numbers on the bearings and get you the right ones with the races RR. If they don't have it, hit Bearing Supply Co. on N. Market. Remember to take both the inner and outer as they are different sometimes.

I will second that for Bearing Service over on North Market...they can match up almost any bearing you need.

I think I would definately pull the old ones & carry them with you rather than mic'ing them.
