A good marine wheel bearing grease

Reservoir Runner

Was wondering if anyone on the board knew of a good wheel bearing grease to use besides Lubrimatic grease. Thanks for any info you can provide.

I use Amsoil synthetic water resistant grease and have had good results with it. I had a seal go bad sometime last year and discovered it when repacking bearings- there was no corrosion at all.

Sounds like the green stuff I use. Rule of thumb with that stuff, wear latex gloves. Marine bearing grease does NOT like to wash off well.

bah nothing that a little simple green, orange goop and lava soap can't fix  lo

Don't use anything silicone or lithium based as these absorb water, I had a guy in the shop who packed his bearings using Zep Red Slide six months later his bearings are completely rusted because the grease soaked up any moister that got past the seals and dust caps
