Round 5 of our 2017 season allowed up to visit the Northeast River launching out of Charlestown, MD for our first time as a club.  Parking was fine but the single launch and barely any safe docks\means of jumping down to boats was somewhat of a pain.

Now that the NJ BASS season is officially closed to tournament style events\weigh ins, 14 of SJHT finest traveled down to Charlestown Marina, MD to give there all and try to make up some ground on 2017 Points Leader Big Bass Man Sam.....who I might add was absent from this event.

Note:  A correction in the Pot and number of Anglers fishing this weekend.  When transferring the names from Rob's list to mine, Layne's name was not marked off any sheets thus creating a miscalculation but extra money leftover....so the 1st, 2nd, and Lunker winners will get an additional $11 and $4 respectfully.

Alright with that out of the way, SJHT anglers came early and ready to tackle our version of Ockeechobee, FL.  With the latest run-offs and somewhat weird weather we've been having, water color and clarity was still an issue.  The debris field outside of the Northeast River was a tad better than it was a week ago and there seem to be more Striper Fishermen out today due to opening day of there season.

Without further adieu, please give a big shout out to Rob *Ram1212* M. for taking 1st and Lunker with 2 Bass weighing 8.79lbsRob's Lunker went an amazing 5.24lbs. 2nd Place was won by Layne E. with 1 Bass going 3.61lbs. 3rd Place was Joe Rendell H. aka Dave Chappelle with 1 Bass going 3.47lbs.  Congrats to all and Way to fish till the end!!!

Summary: Big Shout outs to Rob, Brian and all who helped with the launching  and tying our rigs up in the AM and even after the tournament.  This is what makes our tournament run smoothly and lessen the frustration especially when there are other clubs with the same idea.  Thanks again Men.

7 out of 14 Anglers caught at least 1 Bass. Just like last week, a total of 7 Bass were caught yielding 27.47lbs in Total weight.  That gave way to an avg. of 3.92lbs per Bass.  The total weight this week with the same amount of fish caught the previous is roughly 15.01lbs more weight than our D.O.D. Tournament.  Amazing right!  Word on the street is that once the Tide starting rising the bite increased therefore allowing anglers to somewhat stick to there comfort baits and techniques.  Congrats to all of the fish catchers but more importantly to all who came out to battle and test there navigational skills with a limited debris field.

Hope to see all in 2 weeks down AT LUMS POND, LOCATED IN BEAR DELAWARE.
