I am currently running a motorguide GreatWhite GWB67V. I measured the shaft from the bottom of the head to the top of the motor and it is 46". Am I measuring this right?
I only freshwater fish and have only been on the water one time where the waves were bad enough to lift the motor all the way out of the water. I am looking to get a minnkota 80 AP/US but am not sure if I should get a 54" or 60" shaft. What do you recommend?

Thanks in advance for your help.

If the 46" shaft is plenty long enough now, I see no reason to go any longer. As long as you are putting it on the same boat.

Thank you for the quick response. I was just wanting to make sure I was measuring it correctly.
