Soft Swimbait Rod?

Believe it or not, i never tried throwing soft swimbaits until this year. I had some pretty good success on a couple of outings with them.  I was using a 7 foot MH moderate fast action rod but feel like I was missing some fish because of the slower action.  Would I be better off using my 704 Savy/Curado combo?  What length, power, action rod would you recommend?

What size swim baits?
I throw 4"ers on my DX743...5"ers on my 704...and anything bigger on a 5 power
