Title: Jan Bassin & Happy New Year 2020 & Home Front Activities
Post by: Donald Garner on December 31, 2019, 10:56:50 AM
Greetings to everyone  ~shade

:toot: It's here the year 2020    ~c~ ~c~  Happy New Year to everyone  :toot:

As the New Year begins I pray for everyone to have good health and happiness for you and your family.  I know there are several members dealing with this issue and hopefully this year will be a better one for you all.

For me this year I'll be moving onto a new school.  Our new high school will open in Aug and I'll be the new Lead Custodian Supervisor there.  Its going to be a big challenge starting the school up from scratch but I'm looking forward to it.

I'll be sitting out of the upcoming UBCS event on Toledo Bend.  I've used up my personal days already from work.  My partner Carl Johnson wedding anniversary is that weekend also.  I don't think his wife would appreciate him being gone on that day  :-\  ~b~    So I'll be checking out the story line results here on UB once it's posted ~read

I'm again looking forward to the Fishing For Freedom event this coming Oct.  Its a great worthy event I just need to figure out where those bigger fish are at  :surrender:

To everyone enjoy this New Year's Day with your family and friends.  Be safe if your out traveling.

Just wanted to report that the inside Christmas decorations are all down, the tree and wreaths are all packed away in the attic.  The wife has to package up all the ornaments in zip bags and tomorrow sometime they will be moved to the garage.  New Years day brings in the first Garage Reorg of the year.  Don't expect to get it all done tomorrow but I may if all goes well.  Happy New Year to all.

Happy New Year All!

Don, Congratulations on the new school! New should mean fewer things breaking and more modern ways to deal with the things that do. Unfortunately, the Sweathogs will be the same.

You beat me to it Bud! I managed to put off taking down the outdoor lights until colder weather and high winds hit. Now I'm going to pay the price taking them down today.

Good morning to all,

Happy New Year to everyone in the UltimateBass Family

We're starting the New Year with overcasts skies.   Our forecasted temps across Central Texas are 45-55dgrs with 55% humidity.

The wife is fixing pork chops, greens, black eye peas and fried cabbage for lunch today  :food   I'll be finding my way to my recliner after lunch to watch some bowl games and nap   ~shade

Jim; Tks buddy, Yep everything will be under Contractor Warranty for the 1st year  ~c~  I'll just have to call our School District Construction & Facilities Director and let him deal with the contractors  ~shade   You're right though the Sweathogs will find a way to tear things up.  You have fun and be careful taking those exterior lights down.

Bud; Have fun with the garage reorganization project.

To everyone have a pleasant and relaxing first day of 2020.  Be safe if your out traveling back home today.

Major work detail underway at the Kennedy Homestead.  I decided that now was the time to do a major clean out and clean up of the garage. Made good progress so fa.  I had many sheets of plywood that has been neatly stored against the inside walls of the garage for about 15 years or so.  It is now removed and stacked in the driveway and a couple neighbors are stopping by to morrow to take it away.  ~c~ ~c~.  I am also creating space for a lot more of my fishing stuff so that it will be easier to get to and keep organized.  Should finish tomorrow or the next day if all goes well.  A by product also is the stuff stored in my man room will now have room in the garage.  The Mrs. also has some hoarding tendencies like I do and she seems to be a tad unsure about throwing out some of her plant stuff.  I think she has cornered the market on hanging pots or any pot for the most part.  She realizes she does not need it anymore but like my fishing stuff it is hard to part with her treasures.  I am gonna knock off for today and rest my old bones for the rest of the day and evening.

Good evening to all,

We started the day off with over cast skies and a little rain  ~rain  Our forecasted temp for across Central Texas were 45-56dgrs with 87% Humidity.  It has since cleared off and looks to be a really nice day tomorrow.

It was back to work this morning.  The teachers and kids won't be back till next Wednesday.  My team worked in their individual assigned areas.  I spent most of my day in the office peddling around.  Tomorrow I will be  getting things lined up for the Special Olympics to show up Saturday.  Their basketball practices start at 9am > 12:30 every Saturday till the end of Feb.  The first Saturday in March they will start their Track and Field practice.

Bud;  Sounds as if you had a good productive day in the garage cleaning.  I used to have a place in the garage for my fishing stuff.  Its now been taken over by my wife's gardening stuff  ???  My rods are still hanging up on the peg board but all the Plano Boxes and other equipment bags are in the boats  ~shade  We have a Metal Storage building right behind the garage that is full of gardening stuff also :surrender:

Rodney; Hope things are going well for health wise.

Lip; Whets happening up in your parts?  I hope things are going well for you also.

To everyone have a very pleasant evening and hopefully tomorrow will be a better day for ya.

(https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img922/6161/e4STEk.gif) everyone and here's some fresh (https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img923/1916/g8KUYK.gif) if you would like some. It's overcast and feels like 33* with the wind chill but no  ~rain ~rain or (https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img924/9119/QgXsPk.gif) in the near future. For the most part it's going either North or South of my house. So far it's been a mild winter  ~c~ I'm sure we will pay for it later.  lo Rodney how you doing over your way and how's the old body handling this up and down weather? Bud sounds like you have been very busy with the garage clearing project.  ~sweat  Bud my wife sounds like yours I help her out though when she goes up to see our daughter up in Michigan I get rid of a bunch of stuff she forgot about that was stuck away. She has a bad memory and can't remember where she puts stuff at and if it's out of sight she forgets it . I take care of it for her when sh'e gone and she's none the wiser. The way I look at it if it's been in the same spot without moving for over two years then we don't need it and since shes not here to see me get ride of it she don't miss it.  lo Donald that's a good thing you do for the Special Olympics folks. Hope everyone has a great day and be safe out there.

Garage clean out has been completed.  For sure this is not a back friendly exercise.  I am now in a position to create a good storage spot for my fishing stuff.  Although traumatized the Mrs is throwing out some of her gardening stuff and that will also help.  I still have a bunch of rod tubes I need to cut up and haul out but that won't be done today.  For the first time in years I can actually get to all of my craftsman tool cabinets without having to move a bunch of other stuff.  Wife's car is now back in the garage and that too makes her happy.  Even the boxes of fishing stuff that was on the tred mill in my man room is now in the garage.  Gonna take a break for a while now.  I want to make 2020 files for my office and move the 2019 stuff to a file drawer.  So, all in all it has bee a good couple of days with today being a bit windy but temps in the 70s.  Rain tonight and tomorrow and then a cold front invades for a few days.  Everyone have a great weekend and for you guys that are still working time to go back to work on Monday if you did not return this week.  We need all you workers to pump of the social security fund and pay for our medicare.

Afternoon all!! Warmer than normal, showers, turning to snow tonight, up to 2 inches by tomorrow afternoon. I had the injection for the herniated disc Monday, the back is doing much better, the knee is still not right, I see the Doc Monday.
Lip, we got maybe a half inch of the snow, it's long gone now. It's been a weird winter but not unusual to have a warm winter after a cool summer.
Bud, always nice to have order and organization in life and in the storage, the only problem is you're making more room for the monkey to fill up.
Jim, you still getting out? When I went across my home water yesterday I saw a boat out, I think he was after after perch or walleye.
Donald, here it is, the third already, this year is flying by!!! lo lo ;) So this will be your last year working the Special Olympics?
Rodney

Greetings from Belton, Texas  8)

We had mostly clear skies with forecasted temps of 36-56dgrs across Central Texas today  ~sun

It was a slow day at work for me today.  My team worked in their assigned areas getting things ready for the return next Wednesday.  Tomorrow I start working 1/2 days on Saturdays till the end of April.  The Special Olympics start basketball practice tomorrow till the end of Feb.  Their Track & Field practices start the first Saturday in March and end the last Saturday in April.

Top; Welcome back home  ~c~   We're glad you back home safe with your family now.  Enjoy your time home with your family.

Rodney;  Glad to see ya back on line buddy.  Tks for the update on your back and knee.  Hope your trip to the doctor on Monday takes care of the knee pain.  I don't know if this will be my last year or not working with the Special Olympics.  They will more than likely follow me to the new school.  I have an excellent working relationship with these people.  We'll see if they follow me over there.

Bud; Mission completed good for you.  Yep all that bending and reaching does cause some lower back and shoulder pain. Hope you get to feeling better tomorrow.  You ought to take tomorrow off and relax.

Lip; Tks the LJ it sure hits the spot on these chilly / cold wet mornings  ;)  I'm with you on the getting rid of stuff.  If I don't use for a couple years then I more than likely don't need it  :)  My tools are different though  ;)  When I throw stuff away I have to wait till the wife is gone for a visit to Alaska  lo

Guys you all have a safe and relaxing weekend ahead.

Got all the outdoor lights and decorations down and stowed away without any trouble. I don't hang lights from the roof, only the porch railing and I can access most of that by standing in flower beds. Zip ties, staples, and  stakes are all easy to remove. Linda takes care of most of the inside stuff and will be working on that today.

It's going to be a busy morning, I bought a beautiful Pulaski Furniture curio in a local online auction on New Year's day and just pick it up between 10:00  and 2:00 today. Of course we have heard 100% chance of heavy rain all day today. I bought a couple large moving b!ankets and a large roll of plastic wrap from Harbor Freight. Sure wish I had an enclosed trailer. Thinking about it now,  I can probably rent a u-haul for the cost of the blankets and wrap.

Rodney, I spent Thursday after Christmas on Claytor. Beautiful day, we hit 68! Looked like the was a recent turnover,  there was still a lot of debris and floating garbàge. Found lots of bait, but no fish. We're still having a lot of fishable days with temps in mid to high 40s to mid to high 50s.

Howdy from Central Texas  ;)

We're having a beautiful sunny day across Central Texas today  ~sun  Our forecasted temps are 42-70dgrs with 27% humidity  ~c~

The first day of Special Olympics Basketball Practice went well.  They have a new Point of Contact from last year.  We had a short meeting to get to know one another etc.  She liked the way things were ran last year from the support side of the house.  So nothing I provide on that part is going to change.

I made a quick stop over to church after work to replace the gym roof HVAC unit filters.  Monday when I was there not all of the filters had arrived.  I'd cleaned the ones on the gym roof and stuck them back in there.  I was notified that the replacement filters arrived this past Thursday.  Today it didn't take long to change them out so were all good to go for a while now.

:-* Today while at work I got I on UB and started reading some of the posting from back in 2005 till now   ~shade Wow pretty interesting stuff being asked back then.   ~read It was cool reading some of the postings I saw where some of the basic fishing questions that's being asked now were asked back then also   :help:

Stratos Buddy;  Mission Accomplished on the light removal project glad it went smoothly for ya.  Good luck getting that Curio home in one piece.  My wife bought me one several years ago for my military awards, hats and military coins I have.  Does the one you bought have a light inside of it?  They sure are a nice piece to have in the house.  They can kinda set the room off > Conversation piece <.

A closed in trailer would have been nice due to the weather situation.  Even with the trailer you'd still would have had to wrap it up to keep the straps from marking it up etc.

You have a pleasant weekend whets left of it.

Don, yes it does have a light built in.

I called a local u-haul place first thing this morning and got a box truck. It made things much easier. Cost me $44. Add that cost to what I paid for the curio and it's still  about half the cost when it was new.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200105/96da0c430a0a0c7070d16805de0ab4fb.jpg)

Good morning to everyone

We're starting the day off with clear blue bird skies across Central Texas   ~sun  Our forecasted temps are 38-77dgrs with 66% humidity.  Its going to be a nice day here  :)

We're off to church here in a little bit.  Lunch for us today has yet to be determined.  I'm in for some Mexican food we'll have to see what the wife wants  :-\

There is nothing planned for the afternoon except to relax.  I might take in one of the playoff games but we'll see.

Jim; that's a really nice looking Curio Cabinet you picked up there.  Tks for sharing the picture with us.

Rodney; Good luck with your doctor's visit tomorrow.  Hopefully he'll be able to take care of all that pain you're having.

Lip; How you doing buddy?

Top; Have a pleasant visit with your family while on leave.

SHC; How you doing down your way buddy :-\

To everyone have a relaxing and pleasant Sunday with the family.  Be safe in your travels.

With the first phase of the Garage organization project completed it is time for the next step (s).  I have a series of Craftsman rolling tool cabinets that are in need of sorting and consolidation.  Hopefully I will be able to gain some more space in the cabinets to allow one cabinet to be dedicated to fishing stuff.  Although I doubt one cabinet will be enough, ya gotta start somewhere.  Most likely I will need to add another cabinet or come up with alternative storage methods.  The back wall of the garage has a large extension ladder hanging on the wall that is no longer needed.  I am thinking if I get rid of the ladder this would enable the installation of a peg board system or perhaps wall hung cabinets.  Right now I am thinking perhaps a combination of the two but just not sure yet.  When the ladder is gone then the decision on what to do might become more obvious.  This will probably will be a good winter time project although it seems like organization alone will be the key to the next steps.  At least now I can get to my tool cabinets without having to practically unpack the garage.

Good evening to all,

Another beautiful day across Central Texas today  ;)  Our forecasted temps were 36-64dgrs with 45% humidity.  We had lots of sun shining out across our area today  ~sun ~sun

I was kinda busy this morning for a little while.  I went over to one of our elementary schools to pick up our carpet cleaner that was loaned out back in Oct.  The Lead there forgot to call me to let me know she was done with it.  I had another Lead call me to seek my assistance in submitting a service order for a non operational toilet.  While there I set her computer up so she'd be able to find the service order icon faster.  The afternoon was spent updating the Teams Additional Cleaning Area Matrix.  Tomorrow has the makings of being a slow day also.  Wednesday the Lil Darlings & Knotheads will return  :surrender:

Bud; Sounds like you have a plan there.  That peg board works great for hanging fishing equipment up and baits.  If you get the chance to do that project you'll free up a lot of ground space and clutter.  Here's a picture of my peg board wall I used to hang my rods from.  When my wife had the garage built she had peg board placed on 3 of the 4 walls.  On the front wall I have all my hand tools hanging on peg board.  When I got home for good I went and installed shelving across the front and the left side section also.

(https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/xq90/923/L5Q44Z.jpg) (https://imageshack.com/i/pnL5Q44Zj)

Have fun with the Garage Reorganization Project.

Rodney; How did your Dr's appointment go today?  I hope it went well for ya and that you're feeling a lot better than before.  We have ya in our daily prayers buddy.

Lip; How have you been buddy?  How is your wife doing?  I hope she's better.  I have ya'll in my daily prayers also.

To everyone have a relaxing evening and a better day tomorrow.

Fairly quiet day today.  Had some odds and ends to wrap up around the house and then took a load of stuff to the recycle center today as part of the garage re org.  Will likely do another small load tomorrow and keep up with a daily activity until all the stuff is out of here.  Temps to remain cool until the weekend and temps will return to the 70s but some rain is likely.  Planning on stopping by Lowes to look at another Craftsman rolling cabinet for the garage fishing stuff.  Would be nice to have the cabinet here when the temps warm up a bit although today it did reach the low 60s so not all that bad.

Mrs begins a new series of therapy sessions on Tuesday.  She is wanting to improve leg strength and also work on her balance.  I just hope she sticks with it as she had a tendency to quit when the going gets a little tough.  I have called her out on that and got upset with my comments.  She now agrees and will give this next effort her best shot.  I think some of her back pain makes her just want to give up from time to time and feel sorry for herself.  I am urging her to keep fighting and not give up.

Good morning everybody!!!24 headed to 37 or so, cloudy all the live long day with mo precip. I'm be ginning to wish for winter, this is boring. Saw the knee Doc yesterday, since the cortisone didn't work he wants to try a relatively new injection, euflexxa, I'm not sure about the spelling but it's supposed to do wonders, it's only for the knees. Since the office doesn't stock it they have to order it, I'll get the call when it's in and go for the shot, if it works it'll be good for up to a year, I'm hopeful. Finally made it to the gym, no elliptical but did my upper body, it felt good to come back home without a backache!!! :) :) :)
Lip, how you be buddy? Are you still snow-less, we are, get a 1/2 inch and when the sun comes out it's gone.
Bud, I sympathize with Mrs. Bud, back pain is the worst, I know it's kept me out of the gym quite a bit, I hope she can follow her plan, the extra strength will help with the back and she'll be able to do more. It's why I do the gym, that and for my heart and sugar. She's going to need a lot of encouragement to keep it up long term.
Jim, nice looking curio cabinet there!!! Enjoy the warm weather, hope you can get some more fishing in.
Donald, nice looking rod wall there!!! Hope the little darlings behave but I doubt it'll last long real shame but it seems the kiddies have no accountability for their actions. Quiet here, spent about 6 hours realigning the trunnion on my table saw, it's a 20 or so year old JET contractors saw, I had a Craftsman saw before I bought the JET, the Craftsman just didn't have the power to handle the 8 and 12 quarter hardwood I was working with. The trunnion on the Craftsman had 4 bolts holding it to the saw table, loosen, tap on one to align and re-tighten, The Jet didn't work that way, it took a call to the headquarters to find out the right way. Of course after 20 years I forgot a critical step so nothing was working, I went to the web and could find just one description, a written one about how and it left a couple of steps out. I sat there and kept trying until I finally gave up and took a break, a 24 hour break, After Mass and b'fast I went back to it, with a clear mind I looked at it, the light-bulb lit up and I had it. :bang :bang :bang lo lo lo
Have a great day, be well!!!

Afternoon everyone and Rodney still no snow over here by my house just wind and a few passing  ~rain and no real cool weather either so far. Donald Diana is still up in Michigan with our daughter who is having a hard time with depression and her continuous back pain. Rebecca has been dealing with spine problems for years and has tried everything and not much helps. I talked to Diana yesterday and she said the rash from her shingles was going away but the pain on that side of her body is real bad and she can't move her arm without the shooting pain. Shingles is something I hope I don't get for sure. Bud sounds like things are getting squared away on your clean up project. I hope the Mrs can stick with the rehab. Sometimes you have to put up with the pain to get better. SHC how are thinks going down younder and your shins stop hurting yet. lo lo Hope everyone has a good day and be safe out there.

Howdy from Central Texas  :)

Bright sunny day across Central Texas today  ~sun ~sun ~sun  We had forecasted temps of 34 - 67dgrs with 16% humidity.  We have a front moving through tomorrow afternoon its bring some rain into our area.

Not much happening around here today.  School will be back in full swing tomorrow  :surrender  The only good thing about this is it will be a short week  ~shade

Lip; Tks for the update on your wife and daughter.  We'll keep everyone in our daily prayers.

Rodney; Tks for the update on the doctor's visit.  Sure hope that the new shot will take care of the pain issue.  Sounds like you had a busy afternoon getting your tools realigned.  Sometimes we have to back off and take that break like you mentioned.  The problem for me is I'm really head strong and I hate it when I can't figure it out right then and there  >:(   There have been a couple times I backed off and woke up in the middle of the night and figured it out :-*  Glad to hear the problem was solved.

Bud; Good luck to the wife on starting her new series of therapy sessions.   I know about back pain and it sux.  You can do hardly anything when the back won't function properly.  Good for you on be there to motivate her in a positive way.  I hope things go well for her.

To everyone have a pleasant day tomorrow.  Hopefully it will be a better one.

Y'all, I got a new phone. Decided it was also time for a new email address. So I had trouble signing in, but here I am! I believe I successfully created a new account, but I honestly don't know! I switched from iPhone to Android about ten years ago, now I'm back to iPhone and I'm getting reacquainted slowly.

I DO NOT LIKE THE IPHONE VERSION TAPATALK THAT I SEEM TO BE USING. I don't know what's up with these differences.

I quit my job. It was finally time. The town can't even afford to pay my severance, they're having to make payments to me. So I'll continue collecting a salary for a few months.

I met my replacement. First day on the job, he seemed to be regretting it. Asked me how everything got so messed up. I explained that elbow grease and determination can only go so far without money to fund the system. He said yeah, that's what it was looking like to him. He'd already heard all sorts of bad things about me. The mayor can't keep his mouth shut about former employees, and since a lot of stuff fell apart on my watch, he was blaming me. My replacement had figured out by lunch on his first day and told me he could tell none of the problems were due to negligence. So that's cool.

Hit a turkey on my way home from applying for another job this morning. Yeah, I stopped and grabbed it by its feet and threw it in the passenger floorboard of my car thinking this dude gonna fit perfect in the air fryer. That sucker WOKE UP! Scared the hell out of me! Luckily I hadn't even put the car in gear yet, so I just vacated the driver's seat and let that little Tom find his own way out, and he appeared perfectly fine. So glad he didn't regain consciousness at 65mph on these crappy state highways.

Not much going on around here.  The Mrs had her physical therapy yesterday and it really did wonders for her.  She has already scheduled the next three visits.

Still doing daily garage clear out. Each day I take a little more stuff to the recycle center and plan on doing a little bit each day until it is gone.  I think about three more runs to the center should do it and then I have to do some more re organization in my tool cabinets.  I did order another Craftsman tool cabinet to go along with the others in the garage but this one will be dedicated to fishing stuff.  Each day the garage looks better and better so I am a bit energized to keep up the effort.

We got a run of warm weather on the way but unfortunately a lot of rain will be along with it.  Beginning Monday for 6 straight days the temps will be highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s and 60s  I'll take that in January anytime.

It was a pretty nice day across Central Texas today.  Our forecasted temps were 57 - 63dgrs with 57% humidity.  We got a front moving in and there's rain in the forecast for the next few days.  We need the rain so hopefully it will be getting some of what we need.

It was a quiet day at work has it was the first day back for the kids.  We're now back into our daily routine since school has started back up  ::)

Bud; Sounds like progress is being made on the garage project.  Which model of the Craftsman tool cabinet are you using for your fishing stuff.  I've never seen a tool cabinet being used for fishing stuff before.  When you get it all set up if you get the chance take some pictures and I'd be interested in see that set up.

Glad to hear your wife had a positive day of physical therapy yesterday.  When's the next trip out with the Ranger?

SHC;  Wow is all I can say reference that turkey story  ~shade  Tks for sharing that with us.

To everyone have a pleasant day tomorrow.  Be safe in your travels.

Donald the cabinet is a model 1000.  I have 4 others in the garage that are different models.  I bought this one from Lowes on line for $89.00 a real killer price that I could not pass up.  Lowes is delivering tomorrow.  Here is a picture from their website

(https://www.ultimatebass.com/bass-fishing-forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimagizer.imageshack.us%2Fv2%2Fxq90%2F921%2FHFON8y.jpg&hash=be17b62ad1216f0832c522817d5035aefce30f6e) (https://imageshack.com/i/plHFON8yj)

I will take some pictures when I am close to getting done. Cabinet will be used to store things like extra baits line, terminal tackle, meter, prop wrench, reels and a few spare items I have for the boat. I also have some baits in my boat that can go in the cabinet as well as my sonar units, tire gauges etc etc. maybe even my battery load tester if there is enough space.

Not planning any trips to the river until the parking lot paving at the ramp is completed.  Schedule said it would be finished by the 10th but around here schedules don't mean much if you know what I mean.  The river has been in a high water condition for a while but I noticed all the flood warnings have been removed.  We have a bunch of rain moving in this weekend for about 5-6 days and I hope that does not cause more flooding.  We have a lot of other rivers and swamps that dump into the Waccamaw and can cause problems that last quite a while.

Good morning y'all!!! 16, cloudy some flurries, nothing the leaf blower can't and did handle, tomorrow mid 40s with rain, this weather just doesn't know what to do!!! lo Monday I had to head east across I Bay and as I went over the bridge I looked toward the south end and there was a boat out. If it weren't for all this  ~xyz ~rant ^-^ ^-^ ~xyz ~rant arthritis, I'd of had my boat out there, mid 40s in January with no ice and the ramps clear is just to tempting to not do it.
Lip, we had snow for the last 2 days, between 1 and 2 inches of the white stuff. The ground was warm so I had to breakout the shovel and push it yesterday, this morning I popped the battery into the leaf blower and within 10 minutes the truck, car, sidewalk and driveway were cleared, gotta love it!!! :) :) :)
SHC, next time ring the birds neck then you'll have a free meal. lo lo Nice having the ability to take your time looking for work! :)
Bud, god to hear Mrs. Bud signed up for more PT, she does need to do the regimen at home also. Back issues are the worst, when the back is acting up it can lay me low, the knee I can normally work through if I don't push it hard, my left shoulder is acting up but I can push through that but the back just puts me down.
Donald, sorry to hear the little darlings are back in school, might be time to use the Buford Pusser school of diplomacy, carry a big ball bat and speak softly, I remember when corporal punishment was the norm and acceptable, now you can't because you might warp their little psyches which are already warped. Maybe it's time to bring back consequences for actions taken, old school worked and there's no reason it won't work now.
Have a great day, stay warm!!!

a cool buy sunny day at the beach today.  Warm weather moving in for the next week but bringing some rain along with it.  The Craftsman cabinet was delivered today and I have mounted the wheels on it and now is ready for some fishing stuff.  Still have a bit more clean up to do before I start filling up the new cabinet but should have it all done through the weekend.

Wife had another round of therapy today and the worked her pretty hard.  She seems to be satisfied so far and I can now see some slight improvements.  Therapy so far has been some light exercise to get her muscles lose and also some dry needles.  She has two more sessions set up for next week.

Nothing on the calendar for tomorrow or through the weekend.  Looking forward to some garage tinkering.  Have a list of odds and ends I need to go pick up at the stores and of course the infamous grocery shopping is needed again.

I think tomorrow is Zippy's day to go get his new boat.  Looking forward to his reports when it gets it home.  Looks like rain up thataway as well but at least I don't see that he has any snow or ice to deal with.

Greetings to everyone,

We've had cloudy skies with some light rain across Central Texas today.  We're still forecasted to have rain and a possible thunderstorm move through tonight and into tomorrow.  Our forecasted temps for today were 64-73dgrs with 70% humidity.

It was a quiet day at work.  I finally got my riding floor scrubber back from being repaired.  I had it turned in due to it not picking up the water from the floor.  The squeegee was also bouncing across the floor when in operation.  It shouldn't been doing that.  The tech told me while we were down loading it they had to readjust the squeegee control knob in the back.  I'll be giving it a good work out tomorrow after lunch is over with.

Bud; Tks for sharing that picture with us.  How many Plano boxes can you store in those drawers?  I can see where this would be a good way to secure stuff.   When you get the chance would you post some pictures of your tackle being in these drawers.  I'm fixing to down load my Stratos of all its contents.  I'm taking it in for a Water Pressure Gauge replacement and to have the Sea Pro Steering checked out.  I think I have about 30 Plano boxes and several small pouches etc.  Presently I have a stand alone 4 shelf unit that I bought at Lowe's to store stuff on.

Tks for sharing the update on your wife's therapy also.  Those dry needles what was that for an Acupuncture Treatment?  I had a (14) week session of Acupuncture Treatment a couple years ago.  I'm a firm believer in that treatment.  Glad to hear she's doing better.  Tell her best of luck and keep after it.

Rodney; You got a light dusting :-\  I keep waiting for you guys to get that Big Dumping where everyone is snowed in.  Hopefully it won't happen this year.  If your Winters stay this way you guys should / maybe have an early Spring ~shade

If I was to carry that big stick and incorporate that punishment ya'll be seeing me on the late night news  in an orange jump suit :surrender:   The principal and I talked about Ole School tactics a few times.  I'm afraid those days are long gone my friend.

Lip; Where you at buddy :-\  Hope things are getting better for the wife and daughter.  We have everyone in our daily prayers buddy.

SHC; Run into anymore wildlife lately?  Hey good luck with finding that next job also.  At least right now you don't have to rush to find it.

To everyone have a relaxing and pleasant evening.  I hope tomorrow brings a better day for everyone.

Donald, the Craftsman cabinet are to be used for baits in packaging.  Items in plano boxes will still go onto the shelves.  I will be able to store soft plastics in original packages, hooks, weights, and things like baits in their factory packaging.  Lose products are in plano boxes but not all that many.  In the boat I only cary 12 plano boxes + a plano box used for a day box or when I fish on another persons boat.  The cabinet will also be used for some reels that are without packaging.  Reels in boxes will go on the shelf.  This cabinet is really for overstock or items to be used to re supply on the boat tackle.  Just a way to keep stuff in one spot and also allow me to see exactly what I have.  Most likely it will be a way to keep track of a bunch of the soft plastics organized.  The entire bottom drawer will be used for rolls of line and my line winding tool.   It is gonna be nice to have the stuff where I can see it and get to it easily.  FYI these are lockable cabinets if needed but mostly I depend upon a very robust security system I have just for the garage since it is separate from the house.  I don't have any interior cameras in there but might add one fairly soon.  The best part about the alarm in the garage is it has a siren sounder that makes it sound like a prison break when it goes off.   The best part of any security system (and I have done thousands) is having something that makes a whole bunch of noise.  Thieves will run away every time.  I am a believer in just making them go away I don't want to catch them.  That is Law enforcements job.

Bud, a tip I've read somewhere said if you have no home alarm system or if you're away from home, keep your car keys handy and to set off the car alarm in case of trouble. I'm like you, I'd much rather run one off and let the cops give chase than have to deal with it myself.

I know one thing Securitas teaches their unarmed security guards (maybe the armed ones too, but I didn't work in their armed department), "BE A GOOD WITNESS".

TGIF!!! TGIF!!! 41 headed to mid/upper 40s, rain, showers, 50s tomorrow, flood warnings, blah, blah blah. :shocking: :surrender: My knee and shoulder have been keeping me out of the gym, the shoulder is coming around but not the knee, I wish the injection would get here!!! It's been a couple of years since my last episode with the shoulder, I think this may just be a pull. This weather is nuts, just wish winter would quit wimping out or spring would stay, crazy. I read a report that all the wildfires in Australia are arson not weather related, some 180 arrests or admonishments, interesting and sickening if true.
Lip, how's the family doing, any better? Prayers my friend.
Bud, that's a nifty idea with the cabinet, are you going to put some kind of separators or compartments in it? Wouldn't be difficult. Hopefully the therapy will keep working for your wife.
SHC, I would dial 911 and let the cops take care of it, they wouldn't appreciate my self protection weapon. IMHO a loud dog is the best deterrent, they know somebody is there before the electronics usually do and in their off time they give you love and companionship. :) :)
Donald, yep we don't want to do what worked with the darlings, we now teach them there are no consequences for bad behavior, oh well. Back when I was working I had a customer that sold and serviced the equipment for floor cleaning, those scrubbers sure looked complicated, I'm surprised they don't break down more often. I've seen it be a miserable March when we've had winters like this, we would get some really bad storms and cold in March, I hope that's not going to happen this year.
Have a great day and weekend, stay warm and dry!!!

Rodney, I have been thinking about some separators in the drawers and have a few easy ideas to consider.  Won't really know until I start to load the cabinets.  Mostly thinking about a bookend style deal for the soft plastics in the original packaging.  I think once I start putting stuff in the cabinets, it will become obvious what to do.  I really like the idea of just being able to pull out a drawer and see everything and have easy access.

Today I will be getting rid of more stuff in the garage that is currently in boxes, etc.  Mostly just stuff that and one time or another I thought I should keep but will never need.  You know how it goes.  I have a lot of shelf storage available once it is organized and some old stuff thrown out.  This is especially true on the Wife's side of the garage with all of her planting stuff and planting materials.  I think she has cornered the market on flower pots that are half full of dirt.  Her plant shelves looks like a chemical storage facility.  I will be attacking her side soon just to make it a lot more orderly.  She like I tends to keep everything.

Starting the year off right! Caught this on a big Booyah spinner with a single Colorado blade. I was running it deep and bouncing it off the rubble this causeway is built on. Caught another one two casts later, but I dropped it as soon as I pulled the hook out. It was smaller than this one. (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200110/4dba6bed7c881ca673cf2402412bb441.jpg)

Good evening from Central Texas (Belton)

We've had cloudy skies with light rain most of the day.  Our forecasted temps for today were 38-69dgrs with 79% humidity.

That storm cell is pasting through our location as I type this.  It's raining pretty hard now and there's some thunder and lighting mixed in with it also.  The winds are out of the South at 13 mph.  We got everything tied down that can be.  I took my flags down from in the front yard.  Last storm we had like this both poles were bend in a 90dgrs fashion with both flags lying on the ground.

The weather for the upcoming weekend is looking pretty good.  Clear skies with mid temps.

Pretty quiet day at work today.  Our school district used our football stadium and field to hosted a soccer tournament today.  We had schools from Austin, Waco and the surrounding school districts show up.   I was impressed that everyone was pretty decent about picking up their trash.

Tomorrow I'll be working supporting the Special Olympics for a half a day.  I more than likely be picking up down tree limbs once I get back home.  We have a couple dead trees on our North property line.  They're actually on the neighbors side of the fence but they always fall on our side of the fence.

SHC; Congrats on the catch there buddy  ~c~  You fishing down on the river or lake near by?

Bud; Tks again for sharing those pictures of the tool chest.  I might check those out the next time I'm in Lowes just to see if a Plano box would fit in those drawers.

Rodney; Tks for the update on the knee and shoulder.  We got you in our daily prayers also buddy.  Sure hope you get to feeling better soon.  Its weird how weather patterns occur.  I remember some of our Winters in Alaska we would get dumped on with the snow and the temps wouldn't be that cold.  Next Winter very little snow but we'd have some serious Cold Azz weather.

I remember one Winter we had -70dgrs below zero weather and we were conducting Winter War Games down at Ft. Greely.  Our Airborne Battalion Jumped into the training area.  We had cleared the Drop Zone but most of them landed in the deep snow outside of the DZ.  They looked like lawn darts in the snow.  That was a real mess getting those guys out of that deep snow.

We still had -20 dgr weather in March and snow on the ground Memorial Day.  Boy talk about being pissed off.   I was hot seeing snow on the ground still in late May.

Prayers have been said for everyone in this storms path.  Hopefully it won't be as bad as it's being forecasted.  Ya'll be safe and holler when you get the chance this weekend.

Good morning to everyone,

We're starting the day off with Clear Blue Bird Skies across Central Texas this morning  ~sun
Our forecasted temps for today are 33 - 62dgrs with 99% Humidity.

We're off to church here shortly and I believe lunch will be taken here at home today.  I hear the wife digging in the refrigerator & freezer for something  :-\

Busy morning yesterday supporting Special Olympics basketball practice.  After work the wife and I went and saw the movie 1917.  We had enough daylight left after the movie to do a little yard work.  I de-weeded our back yard.  I also put down some more weed killer in other parts of the yard.  I might mow the yard after lunch today there's a bunch of Winter weeds popping up everywhere  >:(

I hope everyone is doing well after that storm cell moved through Friday and part of Saturday.  We didn't have any damage done in our area here in Central Texas.  It mostly just rained real hard with some thunder and lighting flashing across the sky.

To everyone have a pleasant day if possible and enjoy the family time together.

Afternoon all!!! 29 after starting the day out at 43, cloudy. It was around 60 yesterday with rain, strange weather. Not much going on here, doing a bit of work in my shop, watching some fishing and woodworking videos waiting to hear when my knee injection is here.
Lip, how you be? You have winter yet?
SHC, congrats on the catching instead of being chased out by gators and snakes.
Bud, That tool chest should be a great way to keep your soft plastics still in their original bags along with tackle and even some hard baits. This spring I have to spend time in my man cave and get it organized so I can find something and know what I have.
Donald, I had to move leaves, the decorative pear tree the city put in drops it's leaves in December and pile up in our driveway by the back gate, usually I get them with the snowblower but this year, late I got them with the leaf blower but not until after they caused water to enter the basement, they held a lot of water from all the rain we've had. Got rid of the leaves, problem solved.

I'm getting my new to new motorcycle today!
Well, I'm buying it today... may be a few days before I pick it up. Then I need to fix the leak in the gas tank, degunk and replace the gaskets on the carb, and get a new battery.

I've missed riding so much since I wrecked my last bike. This one is tiny, a Honda shadow 600 or 650. That's fine, I only plan to do some joy riding around my home stomping grounds, no more road trips for me.

Maybe someday I'll get a Harley Road King and do some road tripping, but until then... I'd be happy with a Vespa.

Another warm day at the beach.  High today reached 80.  All this recent warm spell comes to an end on Sunday night.  I hate to see it go but Spring is not too far away.  Mrs. had a Dr. apt this morning and Physical Therapy this afternoon.  Tomorrow she has a laser correction of her right eye.  She then has more therapy on Thursday.  Friday is Vet day for the dog.  The following week is not that much better.  It is not right to have all this stuff scheduled.  At least tomorrow is Pay Day so it ain't all bad.

Local boat ramp still not finished.  Base is done but top finish coat still needed along with parking lot painting.  Will be glad when it re opens.  It closed just after Thanksgiving so it has been a while.  Each day I do a little more in the Garage.  Mostly just to get out of the house and be left the heck alone.  Trash pick up was today so I have room to dump some more stuff.  When I get the boat here there will be more stuff to re organize.  Some into the boat and some from the boat.

Good evening to everyone  ;)

We had mostly cloudy skies across Central Texas today.  Our forecasted temps were 64-70dgrs with 86% humidity.  We have some rain in the forecast for the next 3 days.

The Knotheads and Lil Darlings have started back up again  ~shade  These 2% really keeps my team busy.
I was talking with one of the School District's Maintenance guys today.  The painters and plumbers showed up to finish up on a service order I had submitted last week.  They told me there's issues at all of the schools.  Kids just being destructive lil chits.

Bud; How's the wife doing with her physical therapy well I hope.  Sounds like you're going to be busy here the rest of the week.  You been down to check on the Ranger lately.  You have your boat parked inside of a storage unit or is it sitting outside?

Lip; Whet's happening buddy.  Sure hope the wife and daughter are getting better.  We have ya'll in our daily prayers.

Rodney; Glad to hear the "Gym Rat" is back at it.  Good for you buddy.  Leaves I hate them with a passion.  We have numerous Live Oaks in our yard so the leaves are small.   When I mow I just grind them up with the riding mowers.   At school we got some Post Oaks they have them big leaves.  When the wind blows out of the North those leaves all pile up against front of the school.  I have to get out there with a broom and trash can.  It usually takes me an hour to clean up the mess.
Glad to hear you were able to get the situation under control with the water issue also.

SHC; Good luck with the bike.  If you get the chance share some pictures with us of it.

Guys you all have a relaxing evening.  I hope tomorrow turns out to be a better day for everyone.

HAPPY HAPPY HUMP DAY!!! Pay day for a few of us!!! :toot: :toot: :toot: ~c~ ~c~ ~c~ 38 headed to 40 or so, partly cloudy, another nice day. Did the gym, had b'fast, not much else going on. Need to call the Doc about my knee injections, see what's up.
Lip, good to hear from you, hope everything is well!!!
Bud, Mrs. Bud doesn't need to give a honey do list, you've managed to tie up your time all be your self. lo It's a good thing though, playing with your tackle is always enjoyable plus you'll know where everything is and find all that gear you bought but haven't unboxed.
SHC, I just can't picture you on a Vespa, me yes but not you. Mt neighbor has one, looks beautiful but doesn't run, gives him something to play with.
Donald, sounds like the little darlings should be handed paint brushes and learn a trade, this lack of consequences has got to stop, with the new bail laws, lack there of, we have people committing manslaughter and being released with no bail, there's a guy in NYC that commits bank robberies with out a gun so he has to be released without bail so he goes out and commits another, it's getting ridiculous out there.
Have a great day, hug your camel!!!

Morning everyone and still no snow yet but just a little cold but even that isn't too bad. Bud you sure have been busy. ~sweat Donald so it sounds like your new school will have more of the same with the Knotheads and Lil Darlings. Rodney I'm holding my own not getting any better but not getting any new pains so that's a good thing.  lo Glad you were able to go to the gym and get a little workout in.  Diana's still up in Michigan with our Daughter Rebecca . Rebecca had them injections yesterday and they seem to help a little suppose to get some more next week. Her depression is still up and down while she;s adjusting to her new meds the Doctors are trying to find the right combinations that will help but that takes time. She said after she gets done with her injections in her spine she will consider getting admitted where they can watch her and might be able to work with that a little better. I talked to Diana this morning and she said that her rash from the shingles was starting to go away but the nerve pain was getting worse and worse. She said it was almost as bad as labor pains. Hope everyone has a good day and be safe out there.

Afternoon y'all!
I'll tell ya what, I learned something the last time I was out of work that I'm being viciously reminded of now...
I don't think retirement will be my cup of tea. I've got the blues and cabin fever setting in. Feeling bummed because I'm feeling kind of worthless. I need, I must, push myself to do something, and I ain't talking about fishing. So, until I get around to picking up the bike and starting work on it, I've gone plenty to do around the property, especially on a day like today while the weather's cooperating. Yeah it's muddy as hell out there, but the sun is out and the temp is nice and balmy.

I'm going to get the bike going as soon as possible. If it takes longer than expected, I think I'll head over to the local riding club and see if I can exchange labor for horseback time. Shoveling manure is a small price to pay for sale time. I know it's blasphemy to say it here of all places, but I will always love horses and bikes more than fishing

lol, thanks man. Glad to hear some Diana is somewhat getting better, and hope she continues to improve.
And I hope Rebecca is able to get the treatment she needs. I've battled depression before, and it's no joke. It's a compounding vicious cycle and the only way out is to claw your way up until you see daylight AND to take all the help you're offered. It's unfortunately not a one person job, and it certainly sounds like she's got the "battle ready" mindset.

Y'all, I'm gonna be taking a little break from social media, concentrate on other things. I know my attendance here has been a bit spotty anyways due to work and technical difficulties, but I just feel I need a break from the online world for a bit. May go spend some time with the kids, grandkid and mother in law.

I'll probably break radio silence occasionally to show off the bike or if I manage to make some good catches, otherwise, I'll be back sometime soon.

Thanks SHC and I know a thing or two about cutting the social media cord. Heck once I was off of here for about 4 years. :shocking: Just stop by when you can to say howde. Take care and keep remembering to write down them stories of your misadventures.  ;D

Howdy from Belton, Texas  :)

It was a mostly cloudy day with some isolated rain showers covering Central Texas today.  Our forecasted temps were 54-78dgrs with 64% humidity.  We got more rain in the forecast for the next couple days also.

Not much happening at work today it was kinda quiet on the work front.  Hopefully it will stay this way till the end of the week.

SHC286; Buddy take care sure hope things work out for ya.

Lip;  You guys are having a mid Winter so far.   Tks for the update on your wife and daughter.  We have everyone in our daily prayers.

Rodney; Alright another trip to the gym  ~c~  Good luck with your continued workouts.  Hopefully the doctor will have an answer for you reference you knee here soon.   The lack of consequences for the Knotheads and Lil Darlings needs to change.  I concur that parents should be held responsible for all damages these kids cause at school.  Hopefully in the future that will change.

Bud; Whets happening down at the beach?  You still plugging away in your garage?

To everyone have a relaxing evening and a better day tomorrow.

Afternoon all!!! 35 this morning, 30 now, flurries with temps dropping into the mid terms, snow over the weekend before becoming rain. :surrender: The battery died for my leaf blower, called DeWalt and told them what happened, they are sending me a new one no question asked. I bought a feel from OMG, it arrived this morning, BPS EXTREME, 6.4 to 1, it's in really nice shape. Pics in the feel forum. The insurance is denying my knee injections, the fight is on. ~rant ~xyz
Lip, good to hear you're doing good, prayers for Diana and Rebecca. We have  bit of snow but it won't last, goofy year.
SHC, pop in once in a while to let us know how you are doing.
Donald, good to hear it was quiet for a day or so, be nice if it continues. The front coming through has saying hello, finally calming down, makes it interesting. I bought a BPS EXTREME feel, 6.4 to 1, I mounted on my EXTREME 6'6" MH for, it had a QUANTUM AC500 that will become a backup reel. I use this outfit for 1/2 ounce jigs that I use for searching in grass, sometimes I go down to 3/8 but mainly use the 1/2 ounce. I pick it or cast short ways pop it once or twice or swim it back while I have the TM moving the boat along. Sometimes I use it for docks if they aren't hitting plastics.
Rodney.

Greetings to all  8)

We've had rain showers falling all day long across Central Texas today  ~rain  Our forecasted temps were 51-54dgrs with 100% humidity.  We have rain in the forecast for the next 3 days.

Not much happened at work today it was quiet  ;)

Rodney; That was a good deal that DeWalt  provided you with a replacement battery.  That's Customer Service right there.  WTH is the deal with your insurance company and your knee shot?  Keep us updated with that situation.

You're going to like that BPS Extreme Bait Casting Reel.  I used to have (10) of them that I used for flipping / pitching, slinging spinnerbaits and crankbaits; worm and jig fishing and fishing soft plastics.  I never had any issues with them during the 5 yrs I used them.  They color match those BPS Extreme Rods real good ;)   The reason I got rid of them was I wanted to go with all Abu Garcia Reels.  My other (10) BPS Extreme rods have Revo S & SX matched up with them  ~shade

Lip, Bud; Hope things are going well for Ya'll at your home fronts.  Hope both of your wives are feeling better.  Lip hope your daughter is feeling better also.

To everyone have a pleasant day tomorrow.

Spring weather is ending tonight.  Highs today go to about 75 but lows tonight dropping into the upper 30s and it is going to stay that way for the next couple weeks.  Mostly seasonal with hights in the lower to mid 50s and lows in the mid to upper 30s.  Oh well, it is winter but the warm weather of the past few weeks has really been nice. Spring is just around the corner so in about 6 weeks winter should just be a memory.

Wife still doing physical therapy on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  It appears to be helping her but like usual she seems to look for the instant get well deal.  I keep telling her to to be patient and do the work and things will get better. I have to stay on her because this is the point where she is tempted to give up which has been her M.O. for the past couple years.  She is doing somewhat better with her ability to walk and I am pointing that out to her so she will keep on doing the work.

TGIF!!! TGIF!!! It's the running amok day of the American worker!!! Don't stand by the door at quitting time, you'll be trampled to death!!! lo lo 17 headed to 17, partly sunny, flurries. Not much going on, didn't get up in time to hit the gym, I'll do it tomorrow, no sense going everyday if I can't use the elliptical, every other day is right for my upper body. I had my dose of fishing excitement, the new to me reel, now it's waiting for spring. :( :(
Bud, it's a good thing you're doing holding Mrs. Bud's feet to the therapist, pt takes time but it works, you just need to see the progress no matter how slow the results. It doesn't do everything but there's a lot it can do, it's slowing down the ravages of my arthritis.
Donald, 2 quiet days in a row, hopefully a trend. I was pleasantly surprised with DeWalt's support, when the lady got the numbers off the battery she was all over sending me a replacement, she didn't send me to a tech, sounds like there's an ongoing problem with this particular battery.
Last year about this time the insurance rejected an MRI setting me back over a month, now this, funny thing is they happily OKed everything else, I'm sure some of it's based on my age, 10 years younger probably wouldn't be an issue.
I've been wanting to replace the reel for a couple of years but since it works I just couldn't pull the trigger. When Matt put this reel up at the price he did and knowing what he does I finally jumped on it, it's smoother and I think casts better. The use I told you about is the only use I put this outfit to, about the only I change is the size of the jig, it's a search outfit for what I think are slow days and is always on the deck ready to go. I like the way the jig works through grass and can be changed into a swim jig with just a cast.
Everybody have a great day and weekend, stay warm and safe!!!
Rodney

Weather has been pretty nice up until lastnight. Won't be fishing this weekend.

I expect it's about time to start pulling out the old steering system and prepare to install a new hydraulic system.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200117/db505d8861517001c0cee241dbedeb19.jpg)

Good evening to all from Belton, Texas  ~shade

We got rain falling all across Central Texas  ~rain  It's been raining since last night and it's still raining.  Nothing but a steady light rain coming down and it's suppose to continue into tomorrow.  Our forecasted temps for today were 54 - 58dgrs with 98% humidity.

Well the Knotheads and Lil Darlings were at it hard today.  We had (2) soap dispensers damaged, graffiti written on the walls inside of the girls restroom.   Lastly some one took a black Bic Ink Pen and busted it open and smeared ink on the small gym floor.  It wouldn't be so bad but the kid got it on the bottom of his shoe and walked around the gym floor.  There's an area of 20ft that's got black ink marks on the floor.

I got the Team member that's assigned to the Athletic Section seeing if she can get the mess cleaned up.  I'll check the floor in the morning while I'm getting the lights turned on the bleachers pulled out.  If she wasn't able to get the ink off the court then it will be there till this Summer.  We have contractors that come every Summer to sand the floors down and recoat them.

During the Special Olympics Basketball Practice tomorrow I'll reinstall new soap dispenser.

Jim; You going to do this steering replacement yourself or having a marine tech do it for ya?  I need to have my steering checked out on my Stratos.  While the engine is running etc and you're steering there seems to be some 'Flat Spots' when turning the wheel.  I noticed this during the Fishing For Freedom tournament.  I'm getting the Water Pressure Gauge Replaced also.

Your weather forecasts doesn't sound good.  My son called me from Anchorage, Alaska this afternoon.  He told me it was ( - 12 ) dgrs there  :surrender:  I informed him that I don't miss that weather at all  ;)  You guys stay warm there and be careful while out driving around town.

Craig; I like your attitude buddy reference Winter in your parts.  Yep in 3-4 months you'll have Open Water and fishing will be in full swing once again.  When I lived in Alaska I'd hear people complain all the time about the Winters.  The only time I was really pissed about the Winters was the one time we had snow on the ground still on Memorial Day.  A week later it was all gone and we had 23hours of daylight starting.  Life was good and fishing was starting soon.  ~c~

Rodney; A high of 17 dgrs that sux's but it could be worst.  I hope you all don't get hit with a Late Winter Storm in March / April time frame.  I hope you can get your insurance squared away so you can get these shots you need.

Like I mentioned earlier you're going to enjoy that BPS Extreme Reel.  When I bought mine I had things setup where all the (10) BPS Extreme Rods with those Extreme Reels were for the G3.  The Extreme Rods with all the Abu Garcia Revo S etc were for the Stratos.  Now all ( 8 ) Extreme Rods that are matched up with the Abu Garcia Black Max Reels are for the G3.

Bud; I hope the wife sees some improvement soon doing this physical therapy.   This will help her stay motivated to push on.  How's the garage cleaning reorganization coming along?

Lip; How you doing buddy?  Hope the wife and daughter are getting better.  They're still in my daily prayers.

To everyone have a pleasant weekend ahead.  Be safe if you have to be out driving during this Wintery Weather.

Good morning all!

Steve, That's a much nicer view than most city folks have. Looks cold there too.

Don, I'm going to tackle the job myself. My mechanic says it takes him about three hours and as much as I'd like to give him the business, at $1200 for the system itself I just don't think I'll have any business left to give him. I've watched several of the videos and I'm confident I can accomplish the job and it'll give me something to do once the cold weather sets in. We're at 34° this morning and the first rain shower is just now starting. The temp will drop a couple more degrees just before sunrise but I'm not expecting much out of this little bit of weather. Once the sun is up, it'll be just rain and maybe a little slush.

Craig, I know you're used to it and it gives you time to do other things. I just couldn't do it. I've lived in VA and WV most of my life and still hate cold weather. If I could have a do-over, I'd move a lot farther South.

Bud, Try helping Mrs. Bud keep a positive mental attitude. Point out how much better she'll be able to run you down and kick butt.  ;D

Good morning and happy weekend!!! 17 headed to Lord only knows what, mid to upper 30s to low 20s snow, sleet, rain, but no tornadoes. Keeps us guessing. lo lo I got the call from the Doctors office, insurance OKed the injections for my knee, it's on order. The med is called Euflexxa(hyaluronic acid), 3 injections, if it works it's good for about 6 months, I'm hopeful. I'm becoming a pincushion, 8 or so for myu lower back 3 every 2 weeks for my allergies, now this, drop me in the water and I'll sink because of all the holes. lo lo ::) Not much going on, the knee has been bad enough the last several days I haven't been in the gym, or out of the house for much, this weather isn't helping. Soon it'll be done!!! :) :) :)
All of you that are able to fish, why are you reading this, you need to catch some for those of us that can't!!! Get with the program!!! lo
Craig, Jim, BK, good to see you, hope you can hit the water soon!!!
Donald, Maybe they just need to throw them out and let their parents sort it out, maybe they'll turn the kids around. Sounds like crazy weather everywhere but Alaska, it's been a different winter so far.
Have a great day and weekend, stay warm!!!

Gonna be a bit cool but not too bad of a day.  Temps just passed 50 but will be dropping to the mid 30s tonight and it is gonna stay cold for a bit.  On the way to Walmart to pick up some prescriptions and then the Mrs. wants some Tulips planted.  Plan on cooking up some cube steaks in the pressure cooker this afternoon to be used as sandwiches.

The wife's therapy is doing well.  She is moving a bit better although she still has pain.  The best treatment so far as been with the needles but she also gets a round of exercises also  She has two appointments for next week to keep the process going.

Still doing some stuff in the garage org plan from time to time. At least now I can find my tools and the rest of my stuff and that is a real plus.  More culling left to do but the basic plan is done now it is just sorting and organizing until the boat gets home and I can take care of the rest of it.  Plan on going by the boat ramp today to see if they have finished the paving job.  They should be about finished since the weather has been good this week.

Rodney glad they decided to approve your shots and hope they help your knees so you can get back to the gym.  Donald someone needs to take them little darlings and knot heads out behind the wood shed. PM good luck on that project and with them you tube videos I'm sure you can do it. ~bb Bud your going to freeze at them temps. Hope you get them Tulips planted before it gets that cold. BK nice looking pictures. Where's the snow.  lo lo Craig I'm with you and can't wait for some warmer weather and some open water. I got some Nu Tech baits to get wet.  ;D Hope everyone has a great day and be safe out there.

Howdy,

We had mostly clear skies across Central Texas today.  Our forecasted temps were 34-50dgrs with 58% humidity.  The rain has moved on and were having clearing skies for the next couple days.

Spent the morning at work supporting the Special Olympics Basketball practice.  After getting things setup for them I replaced a couple damaged wall mounted soap dispensers that became Non-Operational.   We'll see how long the last next week.   The ink spots on the gym floor will be there until this Summer.  Dang Knotheads  ~xyz

Steve; Tks for sharing that picture with us.  It looks cold there.  What's this Winter been like so far.  I don't remember if it snows that far South or not?   Have you ever traveled to Cheju, Jeju-do Island?  I got to go there while stationed in Korea back in 1977-1978.  The U.S. Army had a Training and Resort Camp there.  We had free time every evening and we'd travel around to the 2 big cities they had on the island there.  It was a beautiful and peaceful place to visit.  I enjoyed eating at some of the local restaurants.

Jim; You got a warm indoor place to work on your Stratos?  Good luck with changing out the steering system.  If you get the chance take some pictures of the process.

Rodney; You guys are having some crappy weather for sure.  Tks for the update on the injections for your knees.  Glad the insurance company came through for ya.

Bud; We got some cooler weather moving across Central Texas also.  Tks for the update on the wife's therapy.  Glad to hear she's doing well with it.

Lip; That White Stuff I'm glad we don't have to deal with that stuff down here.  Hopefully it wont' be around too long.  Hope the wife and daughter are feeling better.  We got everyone there in our daily prayers.

To everyone have a relaxing day tomorrow.  Be safe in your travels if you're out and about.

We're off to church here shortly and we're having lunch at home today.  It looks like stuffed baked potatoes with sloppy joe's and a salad  :food  ;PEP)  There is nothing else planned but relaxing. I might take in watching the playoffs this afternoon we'll see.

To everyone have a relaxing Sunday and enjoy the family time together.

Good morning allSnow storm passed yesterday here in MN. The cities didn't get it as bad as the weather people were predicting, we got about 5 inches. Wind is howling causing some good drifts though.  We're leaving soon to bring our 1 yr old to swimming lessons, so far he's not a fan.  Then the afternoon I'll be watching some football on our new TV. Hopefully those stupid packers don't win,  not sure I can handle the rest of the winter with their fans clucking about another superbowl appearance and how great Aaron Rodgers is.

Good afternoon all!!! 22 headed to mid teens, off and on flurries, winter. We got about 4 or so inches yesterday, about 4:30 I went out and shoveled, it was light. Over night the temp climbed to the mid 30s and it rained and the city plowed. This morning I got ready for Mass then went out and shoveled the driveway, the rain and temp made that stuff heavy but I got it. Quiet day, spent an hour or so rearranging my shop before my knee said go sit down before you fall down. We're finishing dinner watching a BBC production about Alaska, I understand why people love living there.
Lip, hope you and the family are doing well, you're in our daily prayers.
Bud, good to hear Mrs. Bud is getting better, takes time and hard work but it's well worth it. I'm sure your rearranging and organizing are coming along well, mine going to take a while but after years of neglect I'll get it.
Craig, good day to relax, I know there's no ice fishing here but with the wind and snow hitting the water is out of the question.
Donald, sounds like a good meal there, we're having short ribs with roasted squash and potatoes and pear crisp for desert.

Coldest day of the season today with another couple of days of cold to follow.  Temp this morning wake up was 32 and tonight will be about the same.  It was a bright and sunny day today but temps never got out of the 40s.  I still say there is nothing quite like a southern cold that goes deep into your bones.

Worked very hard today to not have to do anything and it worked.  I was so lazy today it got boring.  I guess this is the cabin fever setting in for a few days.  I truly hate cold weather.   Mrs. has Physical therapy tomorrow and sometime tomorrow I have to pay some bills but other than that it will be another quiet day.

Everyone stay warm and think about those upcoming special days on the water that will make all this cold go away.  I guess then we will be complaining about the heat.

Good evening to all,

Beautiful day across Central Texas we had lots of sunny skies.  Our local forecast temps were 34-54dgrs with 32% humidity.  We got some more rain moving into the area Tuesday night and into Friday it looks like.

Nothing exciting happening here today.  We had to work but the kids didn't have school.  They'll all be back tomorrow though ~shade

Rodney;  See you got some of that cold wintery weather up your way.  I really don't miss that snow at all.  Alaska is a great place to live if YOUR YOUNG and HEALTHY  ~shade  I enjoyed the 9yrs we lived there and I enjoy visiting my son and his family.

The only way I'd would live back up there was to be rich and own a Summer Home there.  I knew several people up there that only lived there during the Summer months.  They'll leave in Sept / Oct and return late April / May time frame.  They were called 'Snow Birds'  ~shade

Lip; How's things going for the wife and daughter?

Bud; I enjoyed your lil piece about your garage cleaning you wrote on another thread here.  Hope the wife is still improving with the therapy.  Yep there is always something to complain about weather wise and doing things outdoors.  Hey glad you had the opportunity to take a lazy day break.

Craig; Glad the heavy snow storm passed over your parts.  Good luck getting your son to enjoy taking swimming lessons.  I'm not a Packer's Fan either.  I really enjoyed watching that game   :)

To everyone have a very pleasant day tomorrow.  Enjoy the family time together and be safe traveling.

Good morning all!!! 19 supposed to hit 28 in another hour, I'm betting against it, cloudy but now snow. Shoveled again yesterday with that and a another change I'm sore but it's getting better. Next Tuesday I get the first of 3 injections into the knee, man I am hoping it works.
Lip, how you be brother, good I hope!!!
BK, I bet there are a lot of interesting things to visit over there, I like watching shows about different cultures, of course you're involved in one now.
Craig, it looks like we're finally into winter here, without looking most of the waters should have ice now. Oddly we've had over 60 inches of snow but only have about 5 on the ground.
Bud, it's a good thing to take a day and just kick back and day dream, recharges the battery so to speak. Just try not to let Mrs. Bud catch you or she'll come up with a dozen or so projects for you. lo
Donald, to bad, you get the building all nice and shiny but then you have to let the little darlings. Yep, the weather up here is a bit uppity right now, single digits then 40s then single digits with snow with more single digits with snow then rain but back to snow, my arthritis is having a grand old time.
Have a great day, stay warm!!!

Morning everyone and it's overcast and feels like 18* with the wind chill and suppose to have another front moving through by Friday with a mix of rain and snow with temps around freezing. Not going to amount to much with most of it being rain. Rodney I bet this up and down weather for sure is messing with your joints. Donald sounds like them knot heads and little darlings need to be taken out behind the woodshed and introduced to the golden ruler.  ~xyz Bud y'all still cold down by the beach and glad you took a day off to do nothing. Diana is still in a lot of pain from the shingles and don;t have the strength or energy to drive back to Chicago right now anyhow so unless I take the train up there to drive her back then she will be up there till she feels better. Hope everyone has a great day and be safe out there.

Another cold start this morning but made it to the low 50s today.  Still cold in to the upper 30s tonight but improving a bit the rest of the week to near normal temps.

Nothing special going on today.  Dropped off some stuff at the recycle center today and then took the Expedition for an oil change.  Just finishing the laundry right now.  Wife did a couple loads yesterday so I am just finishing stuff today.

Simple sandwich meal this evening.  Gonna do some Grilled Cheese and tomato sandwiches and just might add som Chicken corn chowder soup to the mix.

Everyone have a great evening and keep warm or at least think warm thoughts.

Good evening to all,

Its started raining last night and hasn't quit as of this posting.  Our forecasted temps for today were 48-50dgrs with 99% humidity.  The rain is suppose to stop sometime tonight.  When it does we have a cold front moving across our area.  The lows are forecasted to be in the mid 30's.

It was quiet at school today.   I sent the principal an email this morning reference the activity of yesterday.   :toot:  He replied they have ID the kids that trashed and damaged the boys restroom.  So here in the next day or so some form of disciplinary action will be administered    ~c~

Bud; Sounds like somewhat a busy day for ya.  Simple meals are the best sometimes.  I finished off the Sloppy Joes we had for Sunday's meal this evening.  It was pretty simple too.

Lip; We still have your daughter and wife in our daily prayers buddy.  Sure hope they both get to feeling better soon.  Hey if you have to travel up there have a good trip on the train.  How long is the train ride?

Rodney; Buddy I'm ready to wet a line also. But that's not going to happen for a while yet.  Nolan lake is still way down.  There isn't any place I can launch my G3.  I'm slowly getting the Stratos Prep'd to get turned into the shop.  I'm having the water pressure gauge replaced and the hydraulic steering checked out.

Of course we're having some weird Winter weather down here also ( Its not Snowing etc) but one day its in the 30's - 40's then there's a heat wave of 70's - 80's moving through a day later.   We're having rain showers moving through the area about every other week now also.

I'm pretty much a fair weather fisherman now.  If I don't have to be out in it I'm not heading out  ;)

Guys you all stay warm and have a really relaxing day tomorrow.  Be safe and enjoy the family time together.

Good afternoon everyone . Looks like we are in for a little (https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img922/166/jdC6rH.gif) We woke up to about 1/2 inch on the ground and it's still snowing. Nothing heavy just fluttering flakes off and on and I think it's suppose to be doing this off and on all day but no bitter cold stuff in the near future . Donald glad they figured out which knot heads did the damage and hope they do more than just a little slap on the wrist. Them kids need to learn that it's not ok to do what they are doing. Diana is going to try and drive back home tomorrow if she feels ok now that Rebecca is in house where she can be monitored . She likes the Doctors and they have already started changing her meds around to see if they can find the right combination to help her. If I have too I will take the 3 hour train ride up there to drive Diana back home. Bud that Grilled Cheese and tomato sandwiches sound good. We use to have Grilled Cheese sandwiches and tomato soup. Rodney looks like y'all are getting a break from this snow system. How's them old joints doing?  Hope everyone has a great day and be safe out there.

Greetings to everyone,

We started off with cloudy skies but ended up with sunny skies by mid afternoon.  Our forecasted temps for today were 36-56dgrs with 65% humidity.

Quiet day on the work front.  Everyone was behaving themselves for a change.  Not a lot going on around the home front.  I'm doing some laundry while the wife in doing some online shopping.

Lip; Tks for the update on your daughter and wife.  I hope the wife has a safe trip back home.  We still have everyone in our daily prayers.

Rodney; Hope you got the aches and pains in check there.

Bud; You still in that relax mode or you back at in the garage?

To everyone have a pleasant day tomorrow.  Be safe traveling in this wintery weather.

TGIF!!! TGIF!!! THE EAGLE FARTS TODAY!!! Spend it like you have it!!! Long live the monkey!!! 30 going down with possible flurries early then warming and cloudy, tomorrow mid to upper 30s with rain. :surrender: :surrender: Still not much going on, did the shopping yesterday, gimped my way through Wegmans, hit the library for a pick up of a couple books and a video I had on hold, the video was John Wick 3, unbelievable amount of bloodletting, wow, it was non stop action if that's what you're into and I am.
Bud, did you finish up the garage? How's Mrs. Bud doing, better I hope.
Lip, we're back to rain again, no freaking wonder my arthritis is up!!! :surrender: :surrender: So your wife and daughter are doing better, good news!!!
Donald, quiet is good whether at work or home!!! Not much doing here, waiting to get my injection, the knee has been bugging me enough to not go to the gym, be glad when I can get back. I think I need to stop watching fishing videos, I'm getting cabin fever big time. Still cleaning up the shop, an hour or so at a time, soon I'll start making some tool storage, the problem being it won't be wall mounted, the foundation is field stone, no mounting to that, it'll have to fit on the workbench I built and put against the wall and some shelf units I'm building.
Have a great day, stay well!!!

More to the North than most of it will be  ~rain more to the south then it will be more snow. Rodney hope them shots help go get back into action. Donald glad things have settled down at school for the time being. Bud how things going over by the beach and hows you organizing project going? Howdy from Belton, Texas  8)

We had a beautiful sunny day across Central Texas today  ~sun ~sun  Our forecasted temps were 39-63dgrs with 30% humidity.  We got a chance of some rain moving through our area tomorrow.

It was a nice quiet day at work.  I spent most of the afternoon helping the PTA setup the cafeteria and the main entry way.  They are sponsoring and hosting whet's call a Glow Event.  They got games for the kids to play, food for them to eat at a cost.  There's lots of fun activities going on from 6pm - 8pm at school tonight.  They got the gym blacken out with black paper and have numerous black lights all around inside.  The kids have this Glow in the Dark stuff they put on etc.  Its always a big hit with the kids every year.   The PTA does a great job of cleaning up afterwards also.  My night shift crew appreciated that as well as I do too.

Tomorrow is another day supporting the Special Olympics Basketball Team.  I'll more than like take movie in and watch it after getting everything set up for them.  I might clean the garage out tomorrow afternoon.  I need to download the Stratos prior to taking it to the marine dealership for some repairs.

Lip; Sounds like Ole Man Winter is paying you a visit.  Hopefully that forecasted snow fall won't be that bad.  So you heading up to pickup your wife or she going to drive down by herself?

Rodney; A few more days till you get the relief shot for your knee.  I went to the theater and seen John Wick 3.  Man I really enjoy watching that series.  No doubt about it there is some death dealing  and non-stop action done in all three of those movies.  I also like Denzel Washington's The Equalizer Movies 1 & 2.  Have you had the chance to watch either one of those?  Have fun with the shop cleaning.  I haven't watched a fishing video in a good while.  I'll get back into it come this Spring.

Bud; Whets happening down there in your parts?

To everyone have a pleasant and relaxing weekend.  Be safe traveling if you have to get out.

Good evening to all,

The day was mostly sunny with forecasted temps being 52-62 dgrs with 69% humidity.  We have clearing skies later on tonight and into Monday.

Busy morning at work today.  After getting the Special Olympics Basketball Team squared away I had to clean up the cafeteria.  The PTA event was a success and for the most part they did a good job of cleaning up afterwards.  There was still some stuff left on the floor and out in the main foyer area.  I had to spot clean the restrooms prior to the Special Olympics personnel got there.

Last year the Theater Arts teacher asked me to pick up (2) securable cabinets.  This morning I went into her classroom and the students took the shelves out of one.  They decided to just put them back in any which way.  I fixed that crap by straighten out the shelves and placing them back in properly.  I then put (4) self driving screws into each shelf.  Everything is back as it should be and we'll now see how long that lasts  ::)

After getting home the wife informed me she wanted to go somewhere.  I took her down to Round Rock and had dinner at Salt Grass Steak House.  We stopped at the Bass Pro Shop on the way back home.  It's been a while since I visited the place.  I was checking out those $20,000.00 dollar All Terrain 4 Wheelers they had on display.  Wow I could not believe the price of those machines.  They were big and roomy but $20,000.00 dollars give me a break.

I left the Bait Monkey locked up at home during this trip.  I did pickup a new BPS Hoodie though.

You guys all have a relaxing weekend whets left of it.  Stay warm and be safe when traveling in this weather.

Good morning to everyone  8)

We have Bright Sunny Skies with the forecasted temps of 45-72dgrs with the humidity being 92%.   ~sun

We're off to church here in a little bit.  Lunch has yet to be determined.   There is nothing planned for the rest of the day except relaxing.  I might just spend the afternoon watching some Westerns  ~shade

To everyone have a relaxing and pleasant Sunday.  Stay warm and be safe out traveling  ;)

Pretty boring day today.  Bright and sunny outside but a bit chilly.  Temp did reach 60 but the breeze makes it a tad uncomfortable.  We took the dog for a walk around the neighborhood a while ago and then drove down to the launch ramp to check on the paving.  It appears to be finished but the lines have not yet been painted.  Lot is still blocked off but there was a couple trailers there so I guess some folks just moved the barrels and went in anyway.

Looking forward to a nice simple burger and fries meal tonight.  We have not had that for a while so it surely will be a treat.  Maybe almost as good as the super hot shower this morning.  It was one of those were you just could stand in there all day.  At least I finally got warm.

We attended a memorial service yesterday for a neighbor that we have known for the past 25 years.  Her entire family was here and presented a wonderful slide show of her life and shared some great stories of their mom/grandmother/.  These events are always an opportunity to celebrate a life versus morning the loss.

Everyone have a great rest of the day.

Good morning!!! 33 headed to 32 then 34 then 33, snowrain, yep, one word, ugh, :surrender: arthritis doesn't know what to do, this has been an interesting and tough winter on the joints, could be worse though.
I had a call from a friend, we fished together out of my boat a fair amount but then he had a knee replaced and it was down hill from there. His name is Sherman, married but no kids, he's about 4 years older than I am, a really nice guy, I knew him as Eddie. Ed was quite a bass fisherman and taught me a lot. After his knee replacement he tried using his own boat and for a bit but then only out of mine. He sold 2 boats and a 'toon and would fish from shore but even that would dwindle and he wasn't comfortable in a boat. He called me yesterday to chat and it was great to hear from him, we haven't talked in almost a year. Besides just chatting he told me he has Parkinson's disease, that was a shock to say the least, he is divesting from most of his fishing gear, he had enough to stock a good size tackle store. He's down to soft plastics and rod/reel outfits. The plastics I I could take though I have enough to last me for a few more years but the outfits, 600 plus, are all older and while I want to replace a few reels, I don't need any more except for a couple of panfish rigs. I have to tell you that while I was glad to hear from him it was a bit unsettling hearing about the Parkinson's and him getting rid of all his gear, Eddie didn't need a reason to fish he just did, more than anybody I knew did.
Have a great day!!!

Morning everyone and 32* and overcast  but no rain or snow and what snow we had is just about gone. Rodney sorry to hear about your friend. Your weather sounds a lot like mine up and down but at least we haven't had much of that bitter cold so far this winter. Sounds like your old joints are yelling at you. Bud how are things going down by the beach and it sounds like it shouldn't be much longer before they get that ramp opened back up again. Donald hope them knot heads and little darlings give you a few more days before they start back up again. Did you hear what the punishment was handed down to the ones that were caught yet? Well I will be jumping on a train tomorrow morning to go to Michigan to drive Diana back home. The new Rx she got for the pain from the shingles is helping a little with the pain but one of the side effects she is experiencing are lack pf coordination and slow thought processing. No way could she make that 2 and a half hour drive so I'm going up there tomorrow morning then driving her back home on Wednesday morning .  Everyone have a good day and be safe out there.

Sure is boring around these parts.  Been a damp and cool day  with overcast skies.  Went for lab test this morning just for blood test.  Regular appointment to see the Dr. is Feb 6th.  Just all routine stuff hopefully.
Wife has to see the physical terrorist tomorrow.  It is making a difference and even she can see the improvements.

Finally getting around to replacing a couple of my favorite long sleeve tee shirts.  My beloved True South shirts are about 15 years old and have seen better days.  John, the owner of True South does not offer these any more so I had to order up a couple Daiwa long sleeve Tee shirts to take their place.  I just wanted plain ol Cotton shirts instead of the fancy materials most folks offer today.  The new style material is just to flimsy for my liking.  Besides they tend to show off my man boobs.  ;D ;D  while the simple cotton shirts do not.   ~c~ ~c~  The bad part about losing the weight has been all the skin that still hangs around the middle.  Currently I am about 60lb lighter than the day I retired a number of years ago.  I guess eating correctly versus all those fast food meals I used to eat on the road make the difference.

Good evening to everyone,

We've had partly sunny skies for most of the day.  By mid afternoon a front had started moving through. Our forecasted temps for today were 39-53dgrs with 68% humidity.  We got some rain in our forecast for the next couple days.

Its been kinda quiet at work and I'm not complaining one bit.  Sunday afternoon I was out checking on the boats and riding lawn mowers.  I noticed the Troybilt had a flat tire.  I got the wheel off and checked it out.  I made a trip over to Temple Tire yesterday after work to get it fixed.  I finally got the wheel back on the mower after work today.  While the wheel was off I decided to grease the axle.

I need to take both the John Deere and Troybilt in for yearly services.  Something else to plan for in the near future.

Bud; Good luck with the upcoming physical.  I have one coming up in May.  Glad to hear the Physical Therapy is working out good for the wife.

Lip; Have a pleasant train trip up to pick the wife up.  Ya'll enjoy the road trip back home.  Safe travels buddy.  Tks for the update on her illness and your daughter's situation.

Rodney; Sure sorry to hear about your friend Eddie.  So has the injections helped you knee pain any?

Guys you all have a pleasant day tomorrow.

HAPPY HAPPY HUMP DAY!!! 30 or so when I headed to the gym going to be right around there today, flurries/showers, clearing up later this afternoon, sunny and up to 40 or so tomorrow. YABADABADO!!! 30 on the elliptical this morning, the knee is a little sore but very very much better. I have 2 more rounds of injections and I'm very hopeful for a good outcome!!!
Lip, this winter is death by a thousand snow flakes, I wish it would just hit and stick around, this up and down and damp is not good for the arthritis or allergies. I'll push through til spring though.
Bud, good to hear your wife is seeing the improvement, it's an incentive to keep it up. I know about those routine check ups, 3 times a year it's blood work and 3 visits to the Doc, being diabetic it's the routine. I have my yearly eye exam coming up next month, I'll have my sunglasses ready. lo
Donald, quiet is good, hope the delinquents stay that way. I need to pull a wheel off the snowblower to have the valve stem replaced, the tire was going flat in less than a day, turns out to be the valve stem. When the tire is flat it pulls hard to that side and it's not easy to control, it's one of the reasons I've been shoveling. It was free, a cousin of my wife bought a new to him house and it came with it along with some other things, the driveway is 400 hundred or so feet long with several parking areas and no way was he going to do that. We went for a family reunion and he mentioned that he was going to put to the road edge with a sign "FREE", told him we needed one and he had several nephews put it in the back of my truck, nice being young. lo It worked well but I can't do part of the walkway/driveway with it, it's too big. It's a 9 horse 30 inch Craftsman, the horse power is good but a 24 inch would be a better choice, if I have to buy another one that's what I'll get. Free is free and a good thing so I take good care of it and shovel what I need to, this year I've been shoveling every time it snows, I've only fired it up 2 or 3 time. If we get a big storm it'll be running though.
Have a great day be well!!!

It has been a grey and overcast cast day here at the beach.  Rain moving in overnight for a bit and an all day soaking rain is being forecasted for this coming Friday.  Temps remaining cool.  This cabin fever is getting me down.  The only thing I did all day was go to Walmart to pick up another month worth of prescriptions for the Mrs.  Walked through the fishing section and like always nothing worth looking at there.  I guess I am gonna have to take a trip up to Bass Pro just to look at fishing stuff.   I am not looking for anything just need to get out of here for a bit.  I think it would be a good time to hang out over a Northern Freight for a bit just to browse through all the toos.  I think I just need a little alone time or man time looking at stuff through the window of my nothing box.  We also went to the DMV to renew the Wife's handicap card for her vehicle.

Very simple meal planned for tonight.  We are having a cup of chicken corn chowder and a salad.  I have a hunch that won't be enough for me so I might have to top it off with a ham sandwich.  She who shall be obeyed is getting hungry so I guess I gotta go rustle up some grub.   Everyone have a good evening.

Greetings from Belton, Texas  ;)

We had mostly sunny skies with some pretty strong winds today.  Our forecasted temps were 38-55dgrs with 58% humidity across Central Texas today.

It was a slack day until 30minutes prior to coming home.  One of our Special Needs kid somehow or another dropped his iPad under the small gym bleachers.  These bleachers are sealed for the most part and it's really a painful operation to get stuff back from underneath.  It took some figuring out but I managed to get the iPad from underneath the bleachers  ;)

Bud;  You need to get out of that house and go visit your Ranger, head over to the BPS like you mentioned.  We have to do that on occasion.  We took off last Saturday afternoon just to get out of the house for dinner down in Round Rock.  After the meal we stopped at the BPS just to look around.  I wound up buying a new hoodie and that was it.

That meal you fixed sounded good.  I had a simple meal tonight myself of a 4 meal sandwich with some corn chips and some small pickles with a Pepsi.   You all done with the garage cleaning project?  I don't remember see that your were or wasn't.

Rodney; You old Gym Rat   ~bb  Glad you were able to get out and back into your routine somewhat.
Wow that is a long drive way buddy.  Fore sure a bigger snow removal machine is needed to accomplish that mission.  Don't wait to long to get that tire fixed on that blower.  You never know you might get dumped on over night.

Lip; Hope you had a pleasant trip to pickup the wife.  Be safe in your travels back home.

Guys you all have a relaxing evening and I hope tomorrow is a better day for youns.

Another cool day but finally some sun a little bit ago.  Temps dropping to the upper 30s tonight before a front comes through tomorrow afternoon bring what appears to be a lot of rain.  So bottom line it is just more of the same.

Donald, I have not done any more orgainizing in the garage until I can bring the boat home and clean out all the excess tackle.  Then I will be able to finish the process.  Hoping to do it sooner vs later but the weather looks to remain cool for a while.  I also want to charge up the batteries on the boat and take it to the launch so I can run the boat up and down the river a little bit.  As I said earlier It would be nice to have a bit warmer weather to do that.  The launch ramp isn't open yet due to the construction of the parking lot but when it does open I will be hot to go.

Got a text message from the bait monkey and he is wondering where I have been.  I guess I might have to run up to bass pro tomorrow to pay a visit even though it is not my favorite place to go. The only stuff I want to buy is some terminal tackle stuff that I want to put eyes on before I buy.  Might want to look at some crank baits while there just to see them but not buy unless there are some improved pricing sales.

Good evening everyone and it's been a little hectic around here since I got home yesterday afternoon from picking up Diana in Michigan. She is still in extreme pain from the shingles but at least the meds are taking the edge of the pain off a little. I pray that I never get them. Rodney no snow over here either and we are having them up and down temps also. Donald glad you were able to get the kids his IPAD back. Bud you keep the bait monkey over by the beach. Boy if it gets down to the 30 tonight y'all going to freeze.  lo Hope everyone has a great day and be safe out there.

Evening all!!! Chilly day, temps in the teens, partly sunny. Shopping day, always a fun time wandering through Wegmans, we no longer have the plastic bags for our groceries, the brain trust which is our state elected officials decided we no longer need them time to switch to reusable, a lot of us are upset, the cashiers the most, makes their job harder. We use the plastic bags for garbage bags, many if not most do the same, when they run out we'll have to buy garbage bags, it's all part of stopping the flooding in the spring. Didn't make the gym today, over slept, tomorrow is another day.
Lip, at least Diane is home, hopefully she'll be recovering, you're in our daily prayers.
Bud, cabin fever sucks, big time. I've been watching wired2fish videos, it doesn't help.
Donald, st least the kid dropping his tablet wasn't malicious. The knee is feeling much better and it makes it a lot easier to deal with the other crap, my next shot is Monday.

Good evening to all,

We had mostly cloudy skies with forecasted temps of 36-46dgrs with 82% humidity across Central Texas today.  We got some cooler temps forecasted for the upcoming weekend.

It was mostly a quiet day until mid afternoon.  We had (2) lil Darlings fighting over a finger nail polish bottle.  We'll to make a long story short here a section of the 2nd floor hallway is being stripped tonight.  I'll be applying wax to it this weekend while working with the Special Olympics.

The principal talked to me prior to going home wanting to know if the kids could help clean up the mess.  I informed him beings we'd be using chemicals it wouldn't be possible for them to help.  So we'll see what happens to those two.    There's never a dull moment working at the school.

I was thanked numerous times today for getting that kid's iPad back.  We were just lucky this time.

Rodney;  Over sleeping WHAT :-\  There is nothing wrong with that at all  ;)  We have a couple stores near us that don't have any bags at all.  You have to bring your own OR buy their brand of their cloth carry bags.   When I go to Wal Mart I always get extra bags as we use them for trash bags also  ~shade  Glad you're feeling a lot better and I hope those additional knee shots help with the process also.

Lip; Glad you and your wife made it home safely.  Tks for the update on your wife's condition.  We still have everyone there in our daily prayers.

Bud;  Tks for the garage reorganization update.  We've gotten some cooler weather here also from this last front that moved through.  My Stratos hasn't been in the water since the Fishing for Freedom Tournament back in Oct.  I do need to go out there and charge the batteries up in it and my G3.  Nolan Lake is so low I can't even launch my G3 now.  I've not had it in the water since Aug.

That boat ramp parking lot project is that being done by the Corp of Engineers or a local contractor?  Sure seem like they're taking their time with getting it done.

We have everyone in our daily prayers asking for relieve of the aches and pains. Guys I hope you all have a pleasant day tomorrow.

Finally a warm up is on the way.  The window has opened to bring the boat home on Sunday and remains good till Wednesday afternoon.  I will finally get to take action on my tackle organization project.  Will also get the batteries all charged and if the ramp is open, we are going for a ride on the river. It has been about a month since our last outing.

Greetings to everyone,

Its Friday finally  :surrender:  We had mostly sunny skies with forecasted temps of 34-56 dgrs with 46% humidity across Central Texas today  ~sun  The weekend ahead is looking pretty nice weather wise also.

It was quiet on the school front today.  Tomorrow is another Saturday supporting the Special Olympics Basketball team.  After I get things setup for them I'm going to wax the damaged area on the 2nd floor.  After work tomorrow I'm going to rearrange the garage.  I got several bags of mulch that needs to be moved out to the shed.

I'm then going to pull the cover off the Stratos and download everything into the garage.  One day next week I'm going to take the Stratos and drop it off at Texas Boat World.  Hopefully they'll have what I want done by Spring Break.

Bud; Glad to hear the weather is cooperating so you can get the Ranger out.

Rodney; How's the Old Gym Rat doing today :-\  Well I hope  ~shade

Lip; You getting the wife all settled back in to her house ~shade  Hope she is feeling better.
