We were down last week; it was too hot for me by 10am until about 4.  Wimp!

We found a house with a place for my boat so will be down south a lot this fall and winter. I don't want to wish summer away but I am looking forward to exploring new water in Florida.

Huh. That would be good for a lot of things. Dropshots, jighead minnows, and crankbaits come to mind.

Stren used to make a sinking about 15 years ago.  It was based on a similar design, a braided line around a sinking core.  It was noticeably thicker than floating braid.

Didn't get to go this past weekend, but went a little while yesterday afternoon. Unfortunately, no bites on that setup. The reel casts and retrieves well, but I can't comment yet on how it behaves in a fight. I do have to set the brakes higher than I do on the other Daiwas I have, I guess because of the shallow spool being faster.

the clicker drag.  I have it on my Zillion.  truthfully, I don't even notice it.

Yes, please keep us in the loop on performance and if it continues to sink over time.  I also have recently switched to colored braid for visibility, but they all float, so you have to always keep a semi slack line to see any line twitches...

I made one for my other boat with 1/8 aluminum . Threw out the fiberglass one not thinking I would ever need them. I no longer do not have access to metal shop that worked at (retired).
