Title: 1998 Javelin 400 b
Post by: javelin400b on July 02, 2012, 04:33:39 PM
I recently bought a 1998 Javelin 400b. It has a Evinrude 225 and is 20ft long. The previous owner changed the ignition so that nnow i can crank the boat without a safety lanyard and there is no way to attach one. Does anyone know where i could find the factory one?

You might try contacting a marine dealership near you.  Sometime they have older motors on used boats.  If you call the Evinrude factory they will more than like want the serial # off your engine so have that ready.

Good luck getting it corrected.

you could use a toggle switch to make your own, find the hot wire going to the ingtion and put the switch in it,, or find and old jet ski or old boat at the local boat shop and get one from one of the junkers there.

After looking at the picture give these guys a shout: Team C&O Marine.  They have a pretty good selection of parts etc.  The link is below.

You can put an aftermarket kill switch in the boat. They are very easy to hook up and relatively inexpensive.
