Did some wading for smallmouths with my boy over the weekend. Fished a small creek in SW Ohio. Temp was in the 70's and sunny. I didn't get a temp on the water, but I can tell you that it is cooling off. I was using a wake bait in the head and tail of pools. My first two casts resulted in explosions. First fish jumped off and the second fish broke off on the hook set. Here is one I caught at the tail of a pool.

Some of my best memories with Dad are fishing in creeks streams and ponds. Lots of fun, thank you for sharing the report, great to hear the fall bite is waking up as well :-*
Wading is the best way to fish, in my opinion. I used to love wade-fishing for bass as a kid!
nice fish would like to have seen more of those this summer
Looks like a fun day in the creek. What creek to you wade in SW Ohio?

Chip?? Is that you stranger?? ~shade
I'd rather not say which stream. It gets hammered every time I post the name.
Looks like alot of fun. Congrats.
It's getting harder and harder for me to get up and down the hill at the creek, but I will keep doing it until I can't anymore. I love stream fishing.
