Baseball, outside of school, martial arts.
Football, linebacker, quarterbacks made tasty snacks.

Note to self, do not comepete with merc1997 athletically ... PoPo
Baseball and Basketball for me. I could never get my mom to sign the slip allowing me to play football. Probably better that way. Our football team was HORRIBLE and that kept me healthy for basketball which was my best sport anyway.
Baseball. Had a shot at the pros but blew my elbow out (I was a pitcher and this was way before Tommy John surgery). Oh we'll, such is life.
I wrestled in high school and one year in college before retiring. I have started to get back into as my son is now starting to do it.
Basketball, played at Colorado and scholarship helped pay the way to pharmacy degree.
Football , basketball , track, tourney fished and rodeo.
I'm the only hockey player here ?! I played goalie for hockey all through high school and played football my first 2 years
Got my letter sweater in track, ran HH,100yr dash, 220yr and quarter mile relay. College was difficult for me no sports. After college started play AA and a little AAA volley ball, won a few trophys and messed up my knee some.

son, I did NOT go in to 'how good I was' at my sports either ;D and we'll just leave it there...
but playing, working to get better...contributing to team success...those were the pieces I like best.
whether swimming, baseball, football, basketball..or that sport where we all sat down and went backwards.
Rugby and Waterpolo.
Ran cross country, golf, and basketball in HS. Golf paid my way through college.
SE Kansas grass grower
Baseball and basketball, baseball was always the one I cared more about and would have played ball in college but I had major knee problems put an end to my career
baseball (too small for football) and diving.
Golf, wrestling, and baseball in high school. College I played a lot of ~beer~ games... ~roflmao
Basketball and baseball in high school. Tried to play college basketball but was too short to get much of a look. Played collegiate golf at Southern Arkansas University.
(wish they would have had College Bass Fishing when I was in college)
I went to a school that didn't play football in HS. Would have played in a heartbeat. LOVE THE GAME. As a matter of fact, I'm a HS football coach at that same HS now. They started the program here about 8 years ago.
Basketball and rodeo
I was on the track team my senior year in HS. I high jumped, ran high & low hurdles, triple jumped & long jumped. Even threw the shot put in one meet & ran a couple of distance relays a few times. No sports in college, afterwards did some kick boxing for a few years. :)
Bowled in high school and played intramural floor hockey and flag football throughout college.

Ooooh, bragging time, haven't done this for a while....I'm in.
High Scool Baseball. Was ranked #1 as a pitcher in the state of Maryland in 1987 as a junior with the best record/lowest era. Had a number of pro teams scouting me. Then I made a mistake, wrong place, wrong time, wrong decision. That was the end of that.
That moved me from 1990-92 to play for the All-Navy softball team in Japan where we often traveled to Korea, Hawaii, Phillipines and Okinawa to play in huge tournaments. Of my 3 year tour in Japan I think I was traveling playing softball for 2 years of it. Great time!
Presently, I live my love for the game through my son. Who is a junior in high school now playing ball in Pensacola, Florida. He's 5-10, 180 and throws mid-80's. He plays on a showcase team out of Jacksonville, Fl called the Jacksonville Heat and they won the World Series down in Orlando last summer. Last summer he also played in a tournament and made it to the Championship game where the Atlanta Braves opened up Turner Field for them....that was super-cool!!
Pic is of my son batting at Turner Field.....one Proud Daddy here!

Is fishing all the time, didnt have time for anything else.
I played football.... Center/Deep snap 8)
Well to be honest I didn't play any sports in high school , I played a ton of street ball ( basketball) till midnight trying to be " Like Mike" , usually but that's about it . My "junior" year was spent freezing my rear off on the wide open plains of FT Sill Ok. The year I was " supposed " to graduate was spent in the sand at FT Bragg Nc. I averaged 20 miles a week on the cross country team and boxed on the battalion Light Heavyweight team until I headed for the "Land of The Morning Calm". I guess my "High School" years were a little different But very educational :)
Played catcher and made all star teams every year. I was batting over .400 in regular season. I also water skied competitively in slalom, tricks, and jumping.
The only thing I did in high school was be a Flag Girl in the band. Was a cheerleader in elementary school. I was more into FBLA and entering the business contests. Actually came in 5th place in one of the state competitions.
I played a little football and basketball in high school but my military service paid and is still paying my way through college...three degrees and a certification program so far...I guess it's time for a masters program next.
Soccer, Baseball, Diving.
I played 'em all in high school. Was All-state in Football, Basketball, Baseball, Track.
Went to Oklahoma State to play basketball, for legendary coach Henry Iba, but broke left ankle first year, and right ankle second year. Then I got married. That's not a sport.
Played on a world class fastpitch softball team in El Dorado, Ar for a few years. Went to the nationals one year.
I thought golf was for sissies until I got in the work force. Now it's about all I do besides fish. Still competitive at age 69.
I've had a wonderful life, playing music all night and golf or fishing all day! But getting old and fat at the same time is hard. ~xyz

No, they STOPPED me. I was slow to start with!
I wrestled in high school and played rugby at Western Illinois U. I was one of the better basketball players on the Rugby Club.
A bit of everything such as baseball and soccer but focused on track (800 meters/1600 meters) and cross country.
Played baseball from 4yrs old to 24 yrs old. Football from 12 - 20. Played BB on an awesome JUCO team in Coffeyville, KS, came home and played a couple of years for McNeese State in Lake Charles then went into the Met's orginization for a few years in AAA, but decided if I stayed in it, that's probably as far as I would get. Football was a secondary sport for me, but, the only one I ever had a National Championship in. Played Strong Safety for the National JUCO Champion Coffeyville Red Ravens in 1990.

They did for sure. BTW, I see you are from Omaha. My son Rod Mason played basketball for Creighton, and later for Omaha Racers in the CBA, before going to Europe for a pretty good career.
I played baseball and football in high school. Went on to play college baseball at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC and then transferred to St. Andrews Presbyterian College in Laurinburg, NC. In the summer of 2004, I had a workout with pirates and cincinnati reds, Pittsburg verbally told me i would be in their farm system come the draft in 2005. However, my body had other plans. Tore my rotator cuff and the college opted not to pay for the surgery since i did it playing lacrosse. Never played ball again. Dropped out and join the Air Force.
Played football on high school, was middle linebacker. Left for Marine Corps after h.s. and played basketball in a small league. Now I play about every Sunday night
I played Rugby for 6 years. 4 years of highschool and 2 in college.
Wrestling, and I don't mean the fake kind.
~cf
Ice Hockey.
Surfing. Yes, some schools have surfing teams. Pretty fun to spend practice and "game time" out on the water, doing what I would have been doing anyways, and getting credit for it. ~shade
I also ran track, played soccer, and played football.
Football and Basketball.........
Football, Wrestling, Baseball. Also did MMA but that was back in the mid nineties before it was so mainstream and commercialized.
High school was ice hockey - defense and right wing, and baseball - mostly first base but any infield position. In college I didn't have too much time for sports but I did go back to studying Tae Kwon Do for about three months. Then I hurt my back pretty badly and that was the end of the fun. Was actually a blessing though because that lead to me getting more serious about fishing and in a roundabout way lead to me meeting my bride of 20 years.
In high school it was tennis and motocross. Tore my knees up so bad I had four surgeries in three years in my early twenties so that ended both. Then started racing cars only to injure an arm pretty good.....two more surgeries. Now that I'm in my fifties I spend my spare time in the yard or on the water......both are much easier on the body.
I love how many guys wrestled on this forum!
I wrestled from 6 yrs old til I graduated high school. I wrestle in college and I'm the assistant varsity wrestling coach behind my uncle at my old high school.
When wrestling grew burdensome I played rugby. Two years in high school on a 19u team and now I volunteer coach for them.

Its great to hear guys giving back. THat is what keeps sports going and hopefully teach kids the right way to do things. Like it or not, you start to become a role model
I am 40 now and have started helping out in my sons different sports. It is nice to know I can still compete in wrestling, even at my age. I may have lost some speed and timing, but the kids can see the drive and determination. It makes for a great bonding moment, the same as taking them fishing!
I organized the first Louisiana high school bass tournament in 1973 along with our sponser, Coach Jack Williams, at West Monroe High School. The tournament was held at Turkey Creek outside of Winnsboro. one my best friends Chris Bowman won it with a weight of 4# 4 oz. We had about 14 entrys if I remember correctly. At LA TECH, I became heavily involved in "partying", which caused me to not fish as much until later in life!
