Title: question about my noco 3 bank charger
Post by: jonboy on April 08, 2013, 03:12:56 AM
I recently bought it and installed it and have only been out a few times. It charged fine with no issues. Each time I went out the green light on the middle bank stayed lit all day. Since the first few times I only fished for a few hours i figured that it had a full charge but the other day I fished for about 9 hours and it was still lit at the end of the day. When I plug it up the other two do thier thang but there is no change with the center one. It is hooked to the second battery to my 24 volt trolling motor. it is not a 12/24
I know I can do more checking to see if there is an issue but I have a trip to guntersville comming up and really need to get moving on it. My wife, kids and work seem to be doing everything they can to keep me off the water.
so is this common or is there something going on that I need to deal with?

Give NOCO a call and talk to the Tech folks. The light should go off after you unplug it. Have a multi-meter handy, they'll probably want you to take some readings. ;)

Jonathan,  another thing you might try is to swap the charging leads on your two trolling motor batteries and see if the problem follows the battery or stays the same.  That might indicate that there is something about that battery that is doesn't like or tell you that it is that bank in the charger.

I tried swapping the leads and the same thing happened. I called NOCO and they think something is wrong with the charger. I sent it back in so now Im waiting on my replacement.

I got my new charger in the other day with no problems. Customer service replaced it, no questions asked.

NOCO is good people, and great chargers. Usually when something is not working right the lights flash. Very unusual it stays green.
