Anyone have any experience with either of these...yep...got to get a new one and I am looking at these two. ???
If whichever you get actually helps you "find fish"...let me know and I'll buy one or two or ten.
Are you kidding...I am only buying one for image...I mean all those guys on the fishing shows have 'em and I want to grow up to be just like them. ;D Has nothing to do with finding fish...beside what makes you think even if I find 'em I can catch 'em. ;D
Oh, I get it. Its a matter of "looking like you know what you are doing" and "looking good doing it".
Bingo!!! That is exactly what it is...and I just want to know which one of these would make me look really good? ???
Either one will make you look really good, but unfortunately I am unfamilar with the two (never used them). I do know that any depth finder will work and make you look good if you leave it on K-Mart Mode, shows all kinds of fish and structure under you, may not catch many of them but who ever is in the boat with you will think you know where they are at ;D
The K-Mart mode...haven't read about that one...sounds easy though. Hey if I get the GPS built in then I will also look like I know where I am going. I think this image thing is gonna work for me. They even have little fishes on them and the depth they are. That would look really good too! Wow! ;D
You're cookin' with grease now Ranger. ;D
Well...I guess I will just have to take a chance and get one of these models...wonder if I can pick up fishing shows on 'em.
What about just one of those new "flat screen TV's"? Hook up a VCR and the pro's could walk you thru the day.
Whoa...you may have just changed my life with that suggestion! :o
Well...I got the LCX-19C. I look really good now... ;D Seriously...it is a great unit. Doesn't mean I will catch anymore fish but it has a "perty" picture! :)
well let us know, I for one would love to know if you thought your money was well spent.
I have had my 15 for about two weeks now. I am still learnig how to use it. It would help if I would take the time to read the book, but trial and error just seems more fun. the graph is nice, but I love the maps in the unit. I now have a map of cross lake with the names of all the pockets, islands, everything. I bought a chip for east texas which has more detail and hope they have the new La map out soon.
I can't say I have been catching more fish, but it does make tough days on the water a little more fun. I have spent some time on cross just riding and have found some tops I would never have know about without the unit.Maybe one day I will pull a big fish out of there and it will be worth it. Good luck with the unit and enjoy. Daniel
Tops???? Where where???? ;D ;D ;D
If you like it and it will prevent you from getting lost it is already worth it, catching fish is only a bonus....
Danisfish...which map chip did you buy? I will need to expand the 19c and I have been looking at them wondering which product is best.
If you go to Navionics.com you can look at all the maps they have. They tell you which lakes in which states they now cover and they are adding lakes very fast. They show structure, vegetation, boat ramps and a lot more.
I also see that fishing hot spots has maps as well...guess I will see which one looks the best for the lakes in my area. ???
Be sure and load the lakes around here so you will be set for your trips to visit us.... ;D
Mike...that is funny you said that...I think that would be a blast to come down there and meet all you guys...so I will get that ordered! :)
What day will you be here? ;D
Oh sure! You just want to pay me back for that little conspiracy thing I did with Laurie!! :o
Absolutely not....I'll get even one day....but fishing is fishing, not payback time. >:D
Hey Ranger375, come down and fish the Ultimate Bass Club Shoot Out. You can be any honorary member of one the clubs. ;D
So just curious but what is this I hear about having gators down there??!! :o I can tell you now that I don't have any tackle in my bags for a bite that big. Let alone a net!! ;D
Believe me brother, I don't have anything in my boat big enough for those toothy critters either. I just stay away from them.
Stay away thats what I try to do but the last one I came across wouldn't leave "me" alone. They are usually pretty timid....
Went fishing yesterday...and for anyone thinking of getting a new graph...I can now without hesitation highly recommend the LCX-19C...I have owned a lot of graphs over the years...usually the latest and greatest on the market...I know...I know...a way to waste money. :-[ Anyway...the detail capability of this graph is remarkable. Yesterday while fishing I saw structure that I couldn't believe I was seeing. It is a color graph and the color gradients are really the difference in this graph. It shows different density as shades of color which tell you wether you are looking at mud or clay etc.. Fish holding tight to structure were very easy to see...actually I would say remarkable. The zoom features are exceptional...not just blowing up the picture but actually changing the transducers send and receive function. This gives you a totally new picture in the zoom modes. The built-in GPS is totally integrated with the sonar and makes for marking and finding the same or new spots seemless. Picture quality is nothing short of amazing. It is very much like watching your TV at home. By the way...if you watch the Classic...you will see this graph on a lot of the boats...now I know why...well other than they were probably donated for advertising. ;D It is not cheap...fully loaded it comes in at around $1800.00 but for the features there isn't another graph with these features and quality anywhere close to it. The only negative I can report and it isn't the fault of the graph...to get true fish "arches" the transducer must be parallel to the water surface...the angles of the transom and the changing of the angle of the bottom of the boat to the water...whether trolling, running on plane or just boat loading makes it very hard to adjust the transducer angle to be flat under all configurations...this is not a real problem...but if you want "perfect" arches then it is difficult to achieve because of the boat configuration. Just thought I would share what I found with the graph under working conditions. Will it make you catch more fish...no...you got to do that part on your own...but as I have been told many times in fishing...opportunity must first be seen to be seized...and this graph will most certainly let you see the opportunities!
Excellent product review thank you very much Ranger375.
thanks ranger 375 Iwas wondering if the extr pixels were worth it I fish the Bass pro ams (as an amiture) most were running a 15mt Blk / white Boy did they have a nice picture on the screen. I now am running a lawrance 320 and a botom line tournament master. but like you I want a good picture and I thanks Dave thought color would be clearer (I know I am slow)
