Lee and I were talking about maybe having a Ultimate Bass get together at Guntersville and Lee suggested The State Park as possibly the best location. Thought we'd start a thread to see what dates work best for those that could possibly attend.  Anyone interested in making this happen , Post up your ideas !

Well I dunno how far out you want to plan but I'm already off the whole last week of March 2014... So that would work best for me. lol

Could probably eliminate the summer months ?  :). So maybe sometime in 
March-May , September -October?  We're getting closer :)
I can pretty much take whenever as long as i know a few weeks in advance . We could always shoot for this time next year pick a weekend and go with it. Like 9/12/14-9/15/14 ?

Glad you jumped in Stumpy !  I knew you'd be all for G'ville !  Like I said I'm flexible in my scheduled time off from work so let's kick it around and anyone who thinks they may be able to attend throw up a date and let's make it happen !

Just remember the classic will be there in February. Better give it a little time to cool back down lol.

March and pre spawn sounds awesome to me.

March will work for me   If its the last weekend , I'll have to do some major damage control . Lil mans birthday is the 29th :)

Wow this is a Bucket List lake for me :-* With my tournament schedules spring will be tough. Fall would be better. What ever is best for everyone else and I'll do my best to make it :-*

Been there a time or two in March and April and the spawn was long gone. Missed it by a month or two according to the locals but shad spawn was on so fishing was decent. I'd vote for octoberish since the classic is there in feb. Otherwise I'd be all over feb. Fun lake

Could put up a poll :) see which dates get the most votes and run with it :). Glad to see alot of interest too ! I think it could be great with lots of turn out ! A lot of membership in driving range and a great fishery too !

A poll is a great way to get things started.

Everyone, please keep in mind that there will not be a date that everyone can make. It is just impossible. However the further out you make it the better the chances that people can forecast the time off. So this fall is obviously out. This coming spring is getting out there and could work.

For me any date is tough but I'll be able to make it if it falls right. Through the spring I fish 4 different organizations and that's at least one a weekend. So it would have to fall on one that I could afford to miss an event (team deal where partner could handle business). In the fall, October is full of Championship events, staff get togethers, and on and on. So September is usually good, Oct. can be tough. November is pushing Turkey Day.

All that was to show that the year hasn't even started and I have a full calendar, and I know I'm not alone. We'll have to run with a date that the majority can make and hope the rest can find a way.

 ~fff         ~cf  As soon as Lsmith500 (Lee) gets back from Guntersville , we will start a poll with a spring time date and a fall time date and just go with it :) most votes wins ! I could do either but to be honest, for me Fall time would be better. UBCS is in April, Classic is in February. Springs gonna be a busy time :)

If you do it in March I have trip planned already and I can come too.

I would love to come!! It has been on my list for years and never gotten up there. waiting on the
poll to see the dates. There is a couple of guides from there that post reports maybe one of them
will chime in and give us some insight on the best time of the year there. I wouldn't let the classic affect
the date,,from all I read about the lake and pressure it gets,, I think it would great at the end of march.

If any if y'all are interested. Fish life is hosting their "lazy mans" tourneys this fall/winter on the G. $50 entry $10 big bass, fish 9a-3p. Just look them up for info.

Well, it was rough out there this week!!!  ~b~  ~b~  Still took 60#'s to win, but we didn't find no where close to that!!  When you have a 12# drop between 1st and 2nd, then another 5# drop to third you know it was rough.

If we do it in the fall, it would have to be October, early November, cause it ain't fall in September down here  lo

But, I'll be there whatever is decided!!

I want to keep track of this thread.  Im a definate MAYBE. lol.  The wife and daughter decided we are moving back to Indy, so Im not sure where ill be when this hits.  Maybe ill get as far as Huntsville and just stop driving.  In that case ill be there for sure.  Jim

I modified the poll to add a vote for either date works . I will take note that  either works for you because I don't think it will let you vote more than once. also helps with headcount purposes as well

Me and jonboy have been talking about trying to find a way to make one of the rallies just to meet some of you guys,  and now you are within range.  I am blessed to be able to fish Guntersville a week each year most years,  and you guys are absolutely gonna think you have died and gone to heaven.  Some of you Florida boys might not,  but everyone else will.  I will try to make the spring trip,  but my fall schedule is much more open,  plus,  I already have a march trip to Guntersville planned.  I would sure hate to have to go to Guntersville twice next spring.   ~sun

I clicked on October, I doubt I'll be able to make it but it sure would be fun.  Guntersville is on the To Do List, although I think it is one week too early.  If you make it a week later, I could make the Guntersville trip, and then head over to Talladega for the race the next weekend.   :-*

That's interesting? I've spent more lost hours on the road behind you than anyone I know... All those Texas tournaments that you "know a short cut" costs us hours of lost prefishing time....

Still looking forward to this rally..Is everyone still looking at Oct.? Bfl reginols and the wild card are all in Oct.. Bama division regional is Oct.2-4 and the wild card is the 24&25th and all the regionals are held in Oct. all over. Thought I would mention this as it could effect our attendance and others too I would think. If I do not make into the regional I will fish the wild card event Oct 24&25 so I will be at one of the two events in Oct.   

We fished the Basscat tournament there in Oct. the lake was packed. They also have the Oakley Big Bass there sometime in Oct.

Wit all that going on in October lets go in November. My buddies have been smoking the big fish out there this month

I know that I will have a trail Championship on Guntersville in October, unfortunately, don't know what dates yet.  Would suck to be fishing and working while y'all was fishin and playin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm ok with whatever y'all decide as well should have plenty of time to tweak the dates so the most people can plan for it and attend

We are still in for this!!!! just Oct.2-4 and oct.24-25th are dates that I can not commit to yet until we see how the year plays out, but most likely I will be fishing the wild card on the 24&25 where at is unknown at this time.

This sounds like a fun trip.  If its anything like the one we had at Fork, it ought to be great.  I will have another boat shortly, so I will try to make this one.  I may even bring Kentucky Derby(my brother in law).  Mike knows who he is from the UBCS.  We just wont let him cook.  LOL  With Me, Cork, Gullo, Jonathan and hopefully some other Louisiana Boys coming, Guntersville will be in a state of shock!  LOL 

I just applied for a job in Huntsville so, who knows I may be closer in the future. Lol

Where are we with this?  We don't need to drop it.  I think this would be a great trip and a good way to meet some of you guys.

We are waiting on a few more votes to set the final date.  I think most should have their schedules now.  Vote for a date folks :-*  If your still waiting on your trail schedules, just let us know on this thread and we will wait.  Let's say we're going to set the date final on March 1st.  That way everyone knows to get their vote in by then  :-*

Guntersville gets me all excited.  I have a trip to Guntersville this April 24 thru 27 and i am tore up about it already.  Going to Guntersville AND meeting some of the UB guys will make this a great trip.

We'll try to get something set up by the end of the month.  Looks like October is the date!  I have some finals that month, but don't think they are during the first weekend.  Was hoping for a few more votes, but looks like that's all we're going to get.

It looks like that first date 10/4-10/5  is gonna be the date with the most votes ! We had 17 total votes which seems low for a place like Guntersville and I'd bet there's a lot more that could/would attend.  We have had a lot of new members join up who might not know about it yet , let's run it till the end of April and win lose or draw just go with the most votes ? We can push it this month in our boards and make sure everyone knows about it. That will give us 5 months to get everyone on board and work out the details.

It does look like no matter which date we choose we are not going to be able to pick a date that works for everyone . We will have to just go with it and hope everyone who is on the fence can adjust their schedules to make it work. Me and Schlich will be there the day before it starts , she says she don't know if she wants to fish or not lol

Just wanted to let you guys know that the Ultimate Bass Fall Rally at Lake Norman, NC has been planned for October 25th, 2014.  This is a one day event that includes a cookout in the pavilion after the weigh in at the Beatties Ford Launch area. The Carolina Bass Buddies are hosting this event.  This will be our 4th rally and is set up as a family affair for fun, food and friends.  During Mid Summer we will be posting all the the particulars and entry information.  You are most certainly are welcome to participate in the event and catch some of those famous Lake Norman Spots.

This weekend was selected to avoid conflicts with other events in the area, especially the NASCAR race at Lowes Motor Speedway and the B.A.S.S. Southern Open.  The prices in the Charlotte get a little jacked up during race week.  The Hotel we use is boat friendly and has a daily rate of about $60 that includes all the local taxes.  Hotel is located just a few miles from the launch area and there is plenty to do in Charlotte for non fishing family members if you are interested.  The Rally fee will be $40.00 per boat with part of the money set aside for the big fish pot and the rest going into the prize and meal funds.  We always return 100% of all the entry fee money.  Hopefully we will be able to gain some product donations from some of the site sponsors to be used as give aways at the rally.

We keep our events very simple and fun.  Not a lot of rules just good times.  If you have any other questions you can PM me or just post your questions in the Carolina Bass Buddies in the Clubs Forum.

Guys, looks like I wont be able to attend if the dates are set in stone for Oct. 4 & 5.  Things have changed at work.  I used to take call every weekend, but it has changed to every other weekend, and that's a weekend when I am on call.  My free dates for October are the 11th and 12th.  Cant do the 25th and 26th due to opening weekend of hunting season.  I completely understand if I cant attend, yall have a great time.
