ok this year I am determined to get this Midwest rally goin lo.
lets start with date selection.
im thinking end of april like maybe 26-27th
I am free that weekend.
That weekend is tournament for me.
We doing date first then deciding on the venue?
I'm not that far bit a location would be good to get an idea if it's feasible. LMK
Bryce
I'd love to do something. I'm in Michigan, let me know a location.
I have a tournament at Truman Lake that weekend. Great idea!!
If I have my boat done I'm in. If not I'll haul the camper wherever and fish backseat with someone lol
ok guess lets chose a venue first...one thing ive learned is there is no way we will be ble to pick a date or place that works for everyone lo
Not real familiar with a lot of lakes outside kansas. Went across Truman and LOZ a few weeks ago but that's about it lol
we had previously talked about Lake Mozingo
Looks like a nice lake, only about 4.5 hrs for me.
Any other votes for mozingo
I'm up for any weekend besides may 3. Falcon challenge on Grand that weekend. Lol

Sounds good. Its not too terribly far. Ive never fished it, but know they have several tournaments on it. Supposed to be a decent fishing lake.
That weekend is still tournament for me....as of now. Ice could push it back possibly.
We do a straight up tournament there? If so...make sure we get a permit. I think we would have the lake to ourselves if so...dont think they will run 2 at the same time there.
That date looks good for me as of now. Just a little over an hour for me and it is an awesome lake to say the least. I do see there is a club tournament on the 26th. Looking forward to meeting you all.

April 26?
If its taken, I doubt they let two on there.
Ive heard of 20+ needed in the spring to cash. I think its about 4-5 hours from me.
660-562-2323
Number to call for tournament information. Says they will email tournament information. Ill check on it in the morning and post what is there. I know several clubs fish it, ABA as well.

April 26, Smithville Bass Club has a tournament on Mozingo.
Great work guys. That date isn't set we can move it around however we need to.
Saturdays are very booked at this lake. Sundays are more available. Here are the dates that are open as of today.
April 20
May 11
May 18
June 15
100$ fee plus 8$ per boat. All can be done over the phone. Only 1 tournament on the lake at a time. Sounded like we would have our own ramp as well.
Even if they are having a tournament we could fish right? Just not a tourney.
Honestly anytime April to October is good fishing on Mozingo. Some of you guys that are traveling a great distance might want to stay over a day or two, there are a couple of other smaller lakes in the immediate area that are real jewels also.

Yes, its open to the public. I suppose it would depend on how many boats we would have. I don't want us rolling in knowing a tournament is going on with a bunch of boats to fun fish.
I think Sunday would be good because of travel for some.

Yep I plan on coming Saturday morning. Will have to leave early Sunday afternoon bc of work.
Looks like may 11th and 18th are free for me

Either of those are good for me too.
I'm good with May 11th I think lo gotta check with mommy and make sure kids don't have anything that weekend
thats quite a haul. 5.5 hours ~roflmao Never knew it would take that long to get from the southeast to the northwest of MO.
Ive never fished there, but what about somewhere a little more central, like stockton or truman? I will drive the distance but thinking about folks a little more east of me.
yea I mean we could discuss some more lakes but something to remember guys. no matter where we move it its gonna make it farther for someone else. lo
ok what we'll do is start a Poll with some of the lakes that we have talked about here and in the past. poll will be open for a set period and once voting is over then that will be the lake for this years Rally. If we get enough involvement maybe talk about a late fall one.
Oh for sure, if the majority of the ones participating can get there in 4ish hours I think it would be a nice turn out. Like I said I would drive 5, but I think some might have a limit due to having to get back for work..etc.
I would be in for this get together, but April 26 is a travel day to go to Table Rock for the NE Federation Nation Qualifier.
Mozingo is an awesome fishery (except for yesterday-for me). 1000 acres, lots of coves and creeks.
It is owned by the city of Maryville. They charge a daily ramp fee (mentioned above). The have 2 RV camping areas, a tent camping area (no electric), and have a bunch of cabins (that sleep 8-12). They are hard to get, but a call might yield an open one.
Mozingo is at least 3' low right now. Yesterday water temps were 44-46 main lake, and I found 54° in some skinny water where a john boat would have trouble getting to.
The city charges $100 per permit. In town, there are a few restaraunts and motels (HI-ex, Super8)
It is about a 10 minute drive from town to the lake.
Generally, it takes 18-22 pounds to win here. Any cast can catch an 8+ pounder. Straight south or north wind can make the lake really roll. Full of Milfoil and timber.

Yep. I'll have to leave early Sunday evening. My vote is still for Mozingo May 11
11 May is Mother's Day...
Can't believe I forgot that lol. Well maybe later in may?
I did start a lake suggestion poll as well guys http://www.ultimatebass.com/bass-fishing-forum/index.php?topic=115683.0 (http://www.ultimatebass.com/bass-fishing-forum/index.php?topic=115683.0)
Thanks for the info Bassthumb
Im ok with it being whenever. Honestly....we cant agree on a date now. Its getting damn close to a May timeframe as it is. I think we should nail something down in the next week. People need to plan no matter if time off work is a factor.
June...July...August...
I would expect this to be a thing where you take Friday or Monday off work. Im not telling guys how to take their vacation time, but if you want to enjoy this thing I would think you want the time to drive and relax and hang out. I will never do any tournament or drive time over 4 hours to squeeze something like this in. Just my opinion.
Whenever we do it I'll be headed down that Friday and leave Sunday. Just gotta know when so my wife can request not to work that weekend so we don't have to find a sitter on the weekend.
Wish you all hadn't made it clear up to the top of the state. That's about 7 - 8 hours for me. Bummer.
There is a poll for the lake.
The one lake...Thomas Hill is more on the east side of the state...about 1.5 hours from StL. It would shave at least 2 hours off the drive compared to Mozingo.

cool
18th works for me
ok so we are down to either mozingo or Thomas hill. ill leave voting open till sat night and then we will have our lake and can start working on a date
And...?
Sorry guys with everything that's been goin on round my parts it's been pretty busy with storm and tornado clean up. I'll be sure we finalize a lake here quickly
And...
And the winner is?
Ok we are goin with Mozingo lake. Now we can start getting the date set. I'm thinking maybe sept? What are y'all thinking.
Hold on now....we only had 6 votes total? Thats it?
I say lets get some real votes in. 6 votes isnt even close to a rally. I can get 4 guys to meet at a lake on any given weekend from here.
September 14th, 2014
is booked by the N2IT Circuit.
660.562.3656 should get you to the "office".
2014 NE Federation Tournament is the Fall Open at Mozingo on Sep 13
Yea the votes kinda shocked me too.
Thanks for posting guys, it's not a requirement but it's cool to see. ~c~
NuTech's giveaways are always popular, almost a hundred page views after a day ~c~
huh?
dont care where but lets pick a place already lol. yes i voted ~roflmao
prefer thomas hill but monzingo is fine too
