Went to Mike's, from HawgTech, last night. After installing the level wind bearing on the Zillion, I decided it needed something else. Swept handle with some blue accents sounded good. Also a few pics of my others.

I'm impressed with the old silver bantams... I wish I'd have kept a couple of the ones I used to own. That photo is a great time line.

I am actually on a kick to collect older Shimano reels. Even the POS ones. I just want to make some kind of weird collection.
OK, I'm drooling and breathing heavy here. I do like the way the coastal came out, but then I'm kind of partial to blue, reels, line, water, the whole thing. ~roflmao
I've been collecting Penn reels, but not getting very far with it, most of em are being fished. ~b~ They will be collectables when the grand kids are my age. lo
That Zillion Coastal just makes me wanna grab my jig and go! lo
You still liking the tatula?

Oh yeah. Love that thing. No, you cant have it lo
I have one of them haha
I think you should be getting the T3 today in the mail.
I am excited. Really excited to see a hawgtech handle in person.
I didn't know you didn't have one. You will love it.
Nope I am a virgin when it comes to their handles. Can't wait. Gonna upgrade the spool in the T3B and make it a monster.

Don't do that to me, lol. I need to stay off of Tackle Tour. I seen a nice CU100D for a good price.

That is a hoot. I didn't even know Shimano ever made a spin-cast reel. Too cool. Thanks for sharing that one. :)

No problem. I've been close to calling about it just for the odd/cool factor!
Well my porn is a little different I guess.
This is my second Expensive reel that I have ever bought. A 6500 Penn Spinfisher V, Bail Less. Oh man I'm panting as I type this, can't wait until I can get better enough to cast it.

I picked up a few other Penns, and an Ambassador C3, trying to upgrade my reels while I am able to. I've been pretty set bait caster wise for a while since I tried to get affordable, better grade reels from the get out.
The new addition.

All it needs is a hawg tech and some new knobs ;D
This one is staying stock except for some bearing addition.
Here is some more to include some rod porn. A couple of these are Denali signature series rods I just picked up from Gwamba. Some of the finest rods ive ever held.(https://www.ultimatebass.com/bass-fishing-forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg.tapatalk.com%2Fd%2F14%2F06%2F08%2Fpa6y2e9y.jpg&hash=42bb07835a5a046ac6e842a62cda789549fd953e)
Nice man! Just FINally Got my HG LH Curado I in. The 6 gear should be next week, it's OTW!
Along with adding Curado d 7 gears to my core 101, and a couple more irod airs coming, I'll be adding more tackle porn myself! I'm excited about the Avail products that were just released for the new shimanos... No drag star upgrade needed!
Cool. I have boca 7's in there with the seals removed. They cast like a dream and my co doesnt have a prayer to reach the spots i can so I am rarely fishing left overs
I have been using 2 brake tabs plus 4 on the wheel. Barely any tension. Thats with a drop of lightning lube on the bearings and race surface ;)
Them Curados look good
You guys keep playing with those and you'll go blind. lo lo

TSI321 makes stock core bearings zing. I'm about to go use mine in about an hour.
Here's my first work with the Curado i 201HG (https://www.ultimatebass.com/bass-fishing-forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg.tapatalk.com%2Fd%2F14%2F06%2F09%2Fsajy9ejy.jpg&hash=b7a5b63e64c3f82bf31998332e497346cdfe2002)
Nice 19.0" bass on a SK 2.5 pro model squarebill. I caught 8 bass total on it, and the reel worked great! I did have a backlash on the first cast ... Lol. That was due to overs pooling it. Pulled off 10 yards and all was good. I gave the 14lb BPS XPS FC (KVD SIG) .. I won't be buying this line again. It's not very resistant to abrasion. Though , I was chugging the squarebill over yards of chunk rock and rip rap. It may sound weird but has anyone used braid as a leader in this situation? I found myself re-tying every 30 mins or so . Just thought maybe braid would help as the abrasion only occurred the first 2-4" up the line. I'm not against going 100 percent braid.
Braid is not very resistant to rocks. Try a leader of thicker mono or fluoro.

I've been fishing this stretch of rock for years and braid has always held up very well for me. : )
I'm going to go back to red label and see if that helps. I heard that Seaguar is the company making the XPS line... but the Red Label has been great for me.
For me I always end up with big abrasions way up the line maybe almost a rod length more so than near the crank itself. Those 2.5s are slayers
How did you set your brakes?

How did you set your brakes?
2 On dial at 2. Typical slow fall spool tension
I have to take a look at my spool tension. All identical set ups but one gets almost no tension locked down. They are knobs from e series anodized.
Where did you find that 201hg? Been looking for one for awhile, want to put it on top of a dc736.

Can the inside pressure disk be concave? Maybe dimpled? I have seen that happen.

It was ordered almost 2 months ago from The Tackle Trap. Brian and Gary are good people, give them a try . The LH Curado is a rare animal. Lol. My 6.4.1 should be in this week. : )

I know hedgehog is selling different tension knobs for the new shimano reels. Might be something to look at

The ones i have are from hawgtech. They are oe. The hedgehog ones are cheaper i think..

It may be. Since they are from e series and on an i series i might need to modify tbe disk set up. I havent had a chance to look at it yet
My point is maybe the E knobs don't work properly for this reel, and that's why hedgehog created a different cap for the newer shimanos, as they're different from the E series. Just an idea, I'm not saying that's it
True that
Maybe it just needs some shims/spacers behind the little contact pad?
Yea thats what im thinkin
The weirdest thing. So by swapping knobs on reels I determined it was the knob. They are identical in every way down to the divot on the shim. The knobs only start making contact once they are almost all the way down so I assume maybe the one knob has a extra thread machined in. I cannibalized a round carbon fiber shim from a black max and its thicker and fit right in. I would like to fix the problem on all of them and make them the same. PLEASE help if you have a stack of shims i could use.
I think I figured it out. Since i transplanted my shims from the I knobs they were the little fiber ones. The e series knobs use a spacer (A) and a brass shim (B). I just ordered all 4 of each for around 10 bucks shipped
Good deal. I like hearing "problem solved"!
Give us an update on the outcome. And bring more porn with you ;PHO)
