Title: Pomme de Terre
Post by: PCat78 on August 11, 2014, 09:38:22 AM
Has anyone fished Pomme lately? Heading there this weekend for a club tournament and seeing if anyone has had any luck.

I watch the Missouri boards because SW Missouri was home for a while. I used to love Pommey, but unfortunately the last time I fished it was in 1988... OMG I really didn't realize it was that long ago ~b~

Anyway we used a lot of Buzzbaits, especially in the summer. A trick that eluded many (and only works if the lake is full), but run a buzzbait in any shade you can find along the shoreline, do this in the middle of the day. If you drive the lake looking for a single shady spot ( a single spot the size of a trash can is enouhg), get to it without making a bunch of noise and run a buzz bait through it, you could catch a nice limit. Two things, first was that you had to cast well past the shade and run your bait into it, so parallel to shore casting was a must, and second... it was a long time ago....

Good luck and please post back to let us know how you do.
