I was out there last weekend and it's a totally different lake from last year...hardly any salvania. Ran A-row from the Louisiana side all the way up into the river to about A-160 and it's clear. Can't speak for gov ditch. But, don't think you'll have any problems at all.

Good luck.

The main boat lanes are ok for now. But have to be careful where you get on plane because there is a chance of hitting stumps. The connecting lanes between A and C is where you will run into trouble. Fishing has been a little tough but should be picking up in the next few weeks.

I fished Jeem's Bayou area last weekend, and the salvinia was bothersome up above Shady Rest. Actually blocked me from effectively fishing one of my spots. That's the only time it's even been a bother anywhere on the lake for me all year though.

Do y'all come off plane when meeting another boat head on in the lanes on caddo? I do in most places (especially when the lake is down) and I'm just curious.

I dont as long as each boat gives just a little to each side you should be fine.

It all depends on the boat lane im on at the time. If it is shallow I wouldnt just because the chance of damaging the lower unit. If both boats maintain a decent speed to not cause a huge wave you should be fine. Also for you guys that fish the lanes boats flying by make a smaller wave then a boat running about 20 mph so with crappie fishing heating up dont give that nasty look. We are doing you a favor by not slowing down. ~roflmao

Gullo - I agree, but both boats have to move over for that to work!

Andy - you're right about the wake deal and the people fishing off the lane. the other day we caught all our fish after a boat passed. I think the prop wash stirs up the bait and fires em up!

Should have said a lot of places...not most

Coming from a guy who fishes in a jon boat I would much rather you either troll past or do 80 past me and when p@ssing me in a boat lane just cuz im in a small boat doesnt meen slow down and creat 4ft waves keep on plane and zoom by the litlle boat likes small waves not ocean waves.as far as sylvania the hwy2 bridge is packed and I know with the near futur windss coming from the north its bout to all come down

+1 on not slowing down and throwing giant wakes on small boats

I fished caddo yesterday. 10/2/14. Launched at morningsport and ran A all the way into big cypress to big pines lodge with no problems. Did meet a boat in government ditch tho. He was fishing and stayed right in the middle and didn't give me any choice but to get off plane(which I knew was gonna be bad) and right as I sat down, I felt the bottom. Luckily it didn't do any damage. But coming back out thru government ditch, I ran it just fine. Just don't come off plane. Also ran E from A into jeems with no problem. Was to scared to try and run H to C cause I've bumped stuff in C just idling when the lake is his low. Hope this helps.

Not too bad, 2 overs.. 1 on jig, 1 on plastic
4 slots, 2 on spinnerbait and 2 on crank bait.
The 2 crank bait fish came from Big Cypress and the others of wind blown trees off big green.
