Finally had some time to tackle this project.....Here is the end result! Very excited gonna use this for travel this weekend.....I even put a little bedazzle with a carbon fiber paint job.
Got this idea from another forum, but he posted a link to yak angler website....and I think the author hailed from PA.....so not my original idea, however I do claim credit for the carbon fiber.....but a very cool setup and total cost about $105, should hold about 6 rod n reels.
I'll make a video at a later date.

That looks awesome!!! ~c~
I have a Tahoe with a roof rack but I don't trust putting my rods up there so I just put them in the back with the rod gloves on. I am playing with some ideas to get them mounted up off the floor, preferably near the roof.
That's pretty cool looking set up you got there. How is it secured to the bed of the truck? With it overhanging / sticking out the bed do you have to put a red flag on the end of it?
Not sure about the flag.....it is only a foot and half over the bed......someone would hit the bumper way before that.....but is a good point I'm gonna look it up.
I built a platform using 2x4s.
When you get the chance take some pictures of the platform with the tail gate down. Once a year we have a "Tips Contest" here and there's some pretty cool stuff given out. The more detail etc on how to build this with some picture might get you that 1st place prize.
Tks for sharing this with us.
